You're playing an ordinary shooter, right? That's what happens.SymphonycomethKillzone 2 is the best shooter out right now and nothing is even challenging it until Modern Warfare 2 comes out.

Ordinary shooters rarely last in the multiplayer department. A new one comes along (fast), and replaces it.

There is "no new one" and nothing "replacing it" until Modern Warfare 2 comes out, assuming it's at least as good.
Ah, so if the Killzone 2 community is slowly dying as our OP says, does that just mean that it's getting flat out boring to play online since no other shooter is replacing it? I think that would be worse than it being replaced.SymphonycomethHe didn't say it was dying, he was asking if it was
played KZ for the first time since my old PS3 died and i forgot how much i love KZ online. i really dont like FPS online gaming on consoles it just doesnt feel right to me as i always had my PC for for my FPS needs and that hasn't changed i feel its the best tool for the job but killzone is the exception to the rule.
didnt have any problem finding games although it was harder to find a game with the new maps. to be fair i didnt start switch the game on till 1am that night, probably bad timing. not gonna be as active as it was a launch but thats to be expected. the one thing it has going on for it is now the DLC maps have started they seem to be coming at a fairly quick rate so thats gonna boost the numbers i would think.
i play it online every now and then but i got other games i wana play....ill play more when theres new maps, but im always up for a game if someone invites me

I'm guessing you don't even have a PS3. I've had one since day one and I still play Warhawk, R6: Vegas, PSN: Poker, and other games online with no problems finding matches. These are all very old games and still have plenty of people playing. What you are implying is false

but you can be sure that the online community will be completely dead once CoD:MW2 is out.Doolz2024
Once MW2 comes out half the entertainment business will die... Children and wives will be neglected, yards will go unkept and society will stand still. (for the first 2 or 3 weeks)... R6V CRAPPY. Tom Clancey titles are always top notch. (except End War) I don't think you even played the game.No way its dieing... people still play crappy R6V FIRST ONE!

Of course "a lot" of people are playing...but I bet the community is dying...slowly. It's only to be expected after all. With what a handful of buyers. (3-5 million sales? Or am I giving it too high a number?) If Killzone 2 can at least keep it stable or even more users (COD says otherwise), then kudos to you and your argument. If it goes like LOL-EVERYOTHERSHOOTER, congrats on defending a regular shooter going on regular schedule of the usual impending, inevitable community death.Symphonycometh
Darwinism applied to the MP community :)

Also I can't think of a single example of a game selling several million copies and then the community dying. All the big sellers I can think of still have plenty of people playing. Name some of these games you are talking about?
Killzone 2 will probably stay strong until KZ3 or Resistance 3 since the game is quite unique in the way it combines team tactics and classes, CoD4 like ranking up, and the steady stream of new (albeit slightly expensive) maps. Still, I have yet to see a game actually beat CoD when it comes to addictiveness and pure awe and amazement the first time they enjoy it, in fact I'd have to compare COD to a vacuum in the way that is sucks away the players of every other game on almost every console but the Wii (although they get WaW).
Yeah it should stay about as alive as Halo 3 on the 360.

I know it seems like I'm shooing you away now, but I've got novels to write! (And it'd be rude for me not to draw this into a conclusion.) And yes, 3-5 mil is a handful for an UBERSEXYORDINARY popular shooter. And the actual number may actually be smaller than 5 million...I'm just being nice.

3-5 million became a handful when official numbers came in showing that 13 million people on Xbox Live play Call of Duty 4.
Killzone 2's community is just awaiting a fatality.
