Last time I played this, there was enough games that you wouldn't have any trouble finding one. However, it's pretty boring and dull, so I sold my copy. Uncharted 2 multiplayer is much more fun imo.

i was debating the same thing.... so i bought it. There was about 5 games last night, all pretty much full. I played for hours on end. Great game, love the feel of the guns, feel more realistic to me and the multiplayer maps have a nice variety from small to Gi-normous. can't wait till KS3!!! Its not hard to play online, if you play other FPS online you should be able to compete fine.
Yea its nice. Early lvls should be nice. Later on it gets stupid (atleasts to me) since evreyone only wants to level up, so get ready for "200kills radec!" servers that only play Radec Academy and deathmatch =(.
PLaying it right now actually and there are plenty of games to choose from. It seems it actually got more populated since before MW2 launch. Think some of the KZ2 players paused for a while, thinking they would switch to MW2, then some of them decided to go back to KZ2.
There are people still playing Resistance 1, so killzone is safe for a while. You might find some difficulty if you look for a particular game type/level, but you could always just start your own if that happens.

I hate Radec Academy. If you bought all of the DLC, then there are quite alot of maps to choose from. When I play it online, there aren't too many playing Radec Academy. Even if it was only filled with Radec Academy matches, it wouldn't stop me from playing. KZ2's MP is still extremely fun IMO.
