is the playstation plus worth it?

i am on the fence about buying the playstation plus . i have xbox live but i do not play any of the indy or minigame downloads. with out offering party chat or cross game chat, what is the benifit of having playstation plus? is there mostly random savings on games and movies nobody wants? someone enlighten me about the worthiness of this service.

It would be awesome if they added online backup service with this subscription so that your game saves and such could be saved onilne if your PS3 crashed no worries since you really never know when it may happen if it does

i have downloaded alot of add ons for my games for free,plus those themes has made it worth the money..

I honestly feel like i earned every single penny back atm
the next 12 months is basically gravy on top
like others have said if u like playing PSN games the Playstation plus is a must

Just remember that the "free" games you get end when your subscription ends - that seems pretty lame to me.

I think the key to making it worth your money is to just take a gamble. I stopped buying from the PSN store in hopes that the stuff I want will be offered free through PS+. Sometimes it has actually paid off. I got CTR for free and I might pick up Sonic 4 for 7.50. I've been running low on money recently but since I still have this subscription I'll still have stuff to play,...once I get a television, lol.
