There is no problem with PSN, as far as online gameplay goes they are identical IMO. Once you start getting into all that junk you can buy well MS has the upperhand but i dont buy much so i dont care about that, PSN advantage its FREE. So to answer honestly people are just hating, and once home comes out it will be even better than it is now.

Yeah, I have a feeling I'll have nothing to worry about when GTA4 comes out, I just want to see if anyone has experienced problems with certain games.

Nope have had only 1% hickups online. It works perfectly. Also don't believe people who say these things without having experienced it themselves. Helps seperate the liars and the ones who actually KNOW.

Yeah, but Fanboys are everywhere, on all sides. Since I bought the 20GB harddrive, I have to Disconnect my computer to play online: Hence why I don't get to play that much.

Well honestly for me, I experience some hick ups if you will while I'm playing COD4 online. Now, that could be from people disconnecting, or an error that occurs, I'm not sure.

While I'm not a Microsoft X-Box gamer, I don't think that the PSN being free is necessarily an advantage. Remember, although a person who plays their 360 online has to pay for it, it's still only $50 once a year, so that's not bad.

I can't wait for home. I think it'll add some spice to the PSN's service.

... you can purchase content on the PSN...rptransam09

True, you can buy games (The most important), but I didn't see any option to buy/rent movies, television shows, etc: Which if someone cared for that, it might be an advantage.

And I mentioned that it doesn't really concern me: Since I don't buy Content off Live.

to be honest there is less lag on the psn, most of the games and all of the exclusive games have dedicated sony servers. 360 i dont think (dont quote me) has any dedicated servers unless made by players.

plus its has an infinate dollar price advantage over the 360, its free. and a year younger.

The only game i had problems with online with PS3 is Vegas 2. Its very hard to get a game going, or to find a game to join and actually stay in it for more then 5 minutes before getting booted...but then again, it might be something wrong with the game, Because my Warhawk plays just fine =-)

PSN is awesome, I have both systems and play online on both. The only difference I see is more people use mics on XBL, but I lagged only once on PSN, where on XBL, I've lagged many times.

Its not as bad as people make it out to be, and I never have problems, so its great IMO. I pretty sure a lot of people who had something negative to say about PSN, hasn't used it, or they don't own a PS3.

I haven't had any problems, and PSN has worked great for me, its has everything I need, and I couldn't see myself paying $50 a year for something similar (even if it was slightly better), I mean thats basically a new game, and more than some great titles like Oblivion, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, or RSV (I was surprised these were only $30-40 at Bestbuy :D)

Its pretty sweet, especially at the cost of nothing.

Extra content is cool, but psn can really act up sometimes.

I have played about 200 hours of call of duty 4 online and so far I have been signed out of the playstation network twice. You can't file complaints against people for saying anything on their mikes, which is up to game developers to make that a good thing. For example, call of duty 4 has a muting feature but that only mutes people in game. Additional content is as easy as the xbl. No movies though, because playstation really wants to push blu-ray. Updates are nice and frequent. Thats what I love about the playstation network. Lots of updates. Information board is great, tells you whats new right in the cross media bar. Everythings great about it, but it can get spotty at times. Most of the blame should be put on the people that lag however. Maintaining friends is easy, and the message system is nice. Since all the PS3's have hardrives, it works quite nice with all kinds of content. Downloads from the psn network work at my full bandwith, when im downloading an hd trailer for a game or something. At like a meg a second. Comparing it to xbl, it just seems as if xbl isn't worth it.

There are plenty of great things on PSN, like free trailers demos and themes it also works great with PSP. Try remote play, it's awesome, something 360 guys don't have. Oh and it's 100% free:D

I have had a PS3 since april of last year and I never really realized what psn was lacking until I got a 360 yesterday. XBL is awesome because you can message people in game, add friends, invite people to games, whereas on my PS3, it is always really hard to get into a game with my friends because they are always in game and can't see their messages.

but if I had to choose a console, it would easily be PS3, because even though I think XBL is a lot nicer, PS3's menus are slicker and more responsive, blu-ray player is nice, technology is better, and is just a better system in general (imo). Also, with the addition of in-game xmb (hopefully soon), PSN can do most of the things XBL can.

the fact of Sony's online play is that it gets a lot of undeserved hate/negative talk from fanboys that don't even OWN a PS3.

yes it's newer than XboxLive and there are some features they're still working out. but compared to where live was a year from launch it's lightyears better and it's free. online play is just fine without any issues at all. the only thing they need is more community based features and they're slowly getting there. that and in game message reading and XMB access is about the only thing they're missing (and some games have some of those features so the system can do it). once those things are implemented and with the addition of Home once that comes out i think they will be just about even (with Sony having the edge of it being free and the system itself being more reliable).

i play Rainbow Six, High Stakes Vegas Poker, Hot Shots Golf, Madden (which was slow due to EA not Sony's online abilities), Pixel Junk Monsters, Guitar Hero, Need For Speed and a few others online and haven't had any issues. try it out. but don't believe the hype from fanboys. Live is better (for now due to experience and community features) but the gap is not as big as some people try to make it out to be. it'll be closed by this holiday season.

There is no problem with PSN, as far as online gameplay goes they are identical IMO. Once you start getting into all that junk you can buy well MS has the upperhand but i dont buy much so i dont care about that, PSN advantage its FREE. So to answer honestly people are just hating, and once home comes out it will be even better than it is now.

in game messages, and in game invites on xboxlive work a lot better than on ps3, but thats about it. when i played rainbow six on ps3, i had to exit games to invite friends.

I haven't had any severe problems with it, other than UT3 which only lagged twice or so and not as bad as everyone complains about. The store navigation is ok, it just would be better if the menus and such went downward instead of across which they have fixed with the new store update. The only thing XBL has over PSN is the in game stuff and more content from being out longer. I have my computer right next to my ps3, so in my case I don't need music in game, I can just go to options in whatever game I am playing turn down the music and turn my computer up.

I don't own a 360 but I have seen it work and to say it is lightyears above ps3 is an overstatement. I mean it only has in game stuff and achievements on a scorecard which do nothing for the game itself. The speed and a lot of other issues should be fixed with the new update. In game stuff should come out this year on ps3 since you can message in game already in hot shots golf and listen to music in high velocity bowling already. Achievements are starting to roll out on all of the "big" titles like DMC 4 Dark Sector. There will be skill points in all insomniac games and I am pretty sure naughty dog will also adopt the same thing because of uncharted. The ones in Uncharted weren't just for bragging rights either.

What MS does not have is a open ended network for big titles and things like mods. It wasn't until the trouble capcom was having with Super street fighter 2 that MS decided hey let's expand our size on the games.

Overall I think the ps3 is the better deal in the long run. I mean other than in game stuff and achievements on a score card that doesn't do anything for the game itself what does MS have. All the multiplats worth playing run almost equally on ps3 as they do 360 besides half life.

The reason the PSN gets so much trashed pushed towards it's way is because, Sony should have had all this out on day 1 and at it's original price tag of $600, why should I pay more for less. At it's current price point, it is a better deal, but if they could have sold the BC version and 400 and the stripped version at 300 hundred which I know would never happen, then you could have a winner.

The only thing Sony needs now is software and advertising for people to buy it. Even though the Wii has taken charge worldwide in console sales, the 360 still dominates in software and in a sense the software is more important than hardware.

If I have 15 million people that have console x and put out whatever games that sell 300,000 total and then I have console Y which only have 8 million but and put whatever games and they sell 2.5 million total, then the clear winner hear is console Y. Most ps3 exclusives out there did not sell a huge amount, some of them may still be successes but only minor. Take R and C yes they said it is on track as the sales of the ps2 games however it costs more to do ps3 so it is still a loss. I mean I saw that lost oddysey commercial like 3 billion time in 3 weeks. I only saw mlb the show twice in one week. That is all the air time Sony puts into their games like a week and a half and not many times during that period. Multiplats like DMC4 have an exclusive xbox commercial.

I know a lot of what I said isn't related to PSN however that is what makes the PSN trashed talked and the PS3 in general.

While I can't wait for In game XMB and everything, that's not necessarily the PS3's fault. Ubisoft is just being lazy, and could have made it easier to invite friends.

Absolutely AGree with the above!

Now I totally Enjoy Both systems Online setup's. Neither one is COMPLETely Perfect of course but Both are very functional even besides the Occasional Service hiccups.

So to answer honestly people are just hating, and once home comes out it will be even better than it is now.

in game messages, and in game invites on xboxlive work a lot better than on ps3, but thats about it. when i played rainbow six on ps3, i had to exit games to invite friends.

While I can't wait for In game XMB and everything, that's not necessarily the PS3's fault. Ubisoft is just being lazy, and could have made it easier to invite friends.

i know its NOT the ps3's fault, i know that the ps3 can handle it , but if sony had a UNIVERSAL STANDARD kind of like MS, which forced game makers to have it in every game it would of helped. also xbox has a universal mic and communication works very well on xboxlive. when im on my ps3, i dont hear to many people communicating.
