is the ps3 set up for Wirelss N connection?

Just curious with people that may have a ps3 plus a couple other things that are connected and how good a N router runs. My linksys has been having issues lately just resetting itself causing me to keep re doing all the security features I use. Time for an upgrade

PS3 does not itself use the wireless N standard, but if you use a N router it should be backwards compatible with the b/g standards (might want to verify before looking at a particular model).

But then you have to ask yourself why you are upgrading to an "N" router. Do you really *NEED* it? I had bad luck in looking at the lower priced "N" models - who knows if you spend $150 maybe they're better. The best practical router I've come across is the Linksys WRT54G series. I had one of those running nonstop for at least 5 or 6 years before it finally died out. I figured since it was an old model it would be worth looking at the new N standard routers. I tried upgrading to an N router made by Netgear, and that thing was so bad that forget the PS3, I couldn't even get my LAPTOP connected to it in the same positions as I had setup with the WRT54G - I went from "full signal" to an intermittent "weak signal" that could not even load a webpage. The Netgear just had terrible range despite being the supposedly superior "N" standard. I then tried a different "N" model made by Linksys,and it had all kinds of freezing issues where I had to reset the router every few hours to get my internet back.

Finally I just went back to my trusty old Linksys model, and just bought a brand new WRT54GL. No troubles whatsoever with that one. Look at the reviews for that thing on Newegg. Not just my experience. It must actually be the best/most reliable router.

yah i will look into that, i have had mine for 6 years or so too, i just thought i would be good to get an N but if its only going to support b and g then i might as well just get that again.

I use a N router, and my PS3 doesn't care, but I also do hav 3 laptops and 2 phones as well as a desktop connected to it constantly, it works awesomely well. I should note, it does have Tomato installed because the firmware that came with itwas just garbage.
