In like 30 minutes to one hour my Slim gets hot on the top toward the back where the power supply is. I'm not to sure if this is normal, and no i isn't overheating and shutting down. Is yours the same?

LOL, I do it all the time. Mine too gets hot in the back left by the power supply, I think it's normal. I have not had any problems with it yet and I use it kind of a lot between movies and games.
LOL, I show it no mercy!!!

Maybe it is caused by the the power supply and since the system is slimmer all components and the power supply are closer to the top.Whats with everyone being paranoid with their systems? Machines get hot as they are kept on, of COURSE its normal. And no, its not true that Slims get hotter than the old models, not at all. The Slim is much cooler.JudgementEdenengadget.com did a test and found that wile the Slim uses less energy the running temperature is the same as the olders. And yes it gets hotter than the old ones toward the back cause i have found that the power supply is a lot closer to the top of the casing . I didn't even like leaving it on very long because of it. And the air it was pushing out was much warmer too.
