Jay-Z can't rap, so this is somewhat believable.

What are you talking about, Jay-Z is one of the best rappers ever.. nobody compares to him now.. He ranks right up there with Biggie, Pac, Dre, and Em.
Ha! Wow Jaz-Z is not even close to one of the best rappers ever. Mainstream rap is just utter crap. Most of the songs don't have meaning and only have great beats or rythm to them. Vinnie Paz, Murs, RZA, Akrobatik, R.A., Canibus, Asamov, and Talib Kweli are great examples of rap artists who are in a league of their own.
+50 ossim points.

I don't know what those are but I'll take them. :D
But that does not automatically equate him with being good or talented.I am not into RAP, but i would have to disagree the guy is one of the top selling Rappers of all time.

Im sorry, but Jay Z is leaps and bounds better than those no nothing artists that you name. And I dont know how you can call those people more creative than jay z. Especially Talib Kwali, he talks about the same subject over and over again, Its like..... "OK Kwali, we get it, you are "different", but these songs are starting to sound the same and are garbage." Jay Z can make a hit song, but that doesnt mean hes the greatest, lyrically i think Biggie is better as biggie was the original king of NYC, in fact he prolly shot biggie haha[QUOTE="MJ4040"][QUOTE="BrettB7400"]Im sorry, but Jay Z is leaps and bounds better than those no nothing artists that you name. If you know about Jay Z then you should know that he is the best artist lyrically. His flow, creativity, content, and wordplay are way better than any other artust that have done it. A good example (actually the best example) of a person like that was Michael Jackson. Not only did he make hit songs, but he was the greatest musical artist/entertainer that had ever lived.

thats all opinion though, what gives people the right to judge, who is the best rapper over everyone else?[QUOTE="Furi-Kun"]

His bank account and critically acclaimed albums say otherwise. I'm not a Jay Z fan either, but even I can acknowledge his musical talents and ability to rap.

Has he been online before? Especially with a mic? 98% of these immature punks listen to his crap and pretend to be "thugz" themselves because of his crap. "So like uh, whatevs - dawg" Please...
Not to mention, isn't that old worn and torn (beating a dead horse) "Madden statement" a little old and outdated to use these day? Hell, ROBIN WILLIAMS PLAYS MADDEN. Phil Collins, "plays Madden". Who gives a crap? Wasn't "Call Of Duty" and "Grand Theft Auto" the new "relate with the gamers" buzz words these days? Fakeness sucks. Even if you are one of the biggest posers out there.

Actually Lil wayne and 50 cent seem to be the hot new deal with the kiddies online.[QUOTE="Denji"]Actually Lil wayne and 50 cent seem to be the hot new deal with the kiddies online. I don't like hip-hop, but I like Jay-Z, so obviously he's good at what he does:P
You're all would-be music fans if you generalize Rap. Tools. No better than those who blindly mock someone based on race. Anyways, lolz at the article. lolSymphonycometh
"Rap" is no longer "Rap" anymore. And yes, it can be generalized since it's packaged and processed and has now become the biggest joke in society. What once was to spread legit messages and real talent as the voice of the people, is now a souless, mindless autotune voice of a corporation. Who would rather be silenced with "bling bling" and "booty girls" acting like a bunch of fools. Just posers, like they know something. To feed and cater to the little 12-18 wannabe thungz who live in "sweet, little safe subbie America".
I am a music fan. I only speak the truth. This is also coming from someone who grew up on Rap FFS:P

Haha. The generalizing completely includes the .5% of Rap that is amazing to listen to. I'm speaking for that .5%. :P[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"]You're all would-be music fans if you generalize Rap. Wow, yes most southern club rap sucks, like Hurricane Chris, Soulja Boy, etc.. but that is just a slice of the rap out there. Generalizing all rappers into one group is just ignant dawg.[QUOTE="Symphonycometh"]You're all would-be music fans if you generalize Rap. Tools. That was the smartest thing in this whole thread so far.
Everyone's got their own tastes, but when it comes right down to it, mainstream rappers are just slaves being paid to appeal to the masses and bring in the sponsor dough for the corporate men.
It's been a while, but I think I can finally use this for a worthwhile cause:
