Just Cause 2 is amazing

not that i thought it'd be bad - the demo was impressive and reviews have been full of praises everywhere i look. but never did i expect it to be so effing good. by all definitions it's an outstanding achievement, a perfect union of insanely entertaining gameplay and peerless technical presentation. as a sand-box game, it far and away outshines Red Dead Redemption, focusing on action and doing a helluva job; as a product, the quality of optimisation puts countless other half-hearted ports to utter shame, featuring an extremely robust graphic engine that performs flawlessly on PS3.

i usually couldn't care less about Yahtzee's choice of games, but on Just Cause 2 i think we have a consensus - it may well be the GOTY of 2010 and one of the most underrated games of all time. bottom line - if you haven't already, you NEED to get the game and have the wildest fun you can imagine. NAO.

i didn't play the first one, but on PS2 i did manage to get Mercenaries, which was a similar and great game as well. still, by comparison Just Cause 2 is much better, and sorta fill in as the top mayhem making franchise after Mercenaries 2 went to crap. so whaddya waitin for? go get it! :D

I thought it wasnt for me. I picked it up the other day in a cheap deal and although I'm only a couple of missions in Im pretty blown away with;

- how good looking it is for a open worl. RDR thats how you make a multiplat

- How much fun it is

Fantastic game - it's just a shame I am useless at getting wrecking ball kills.

If only it had an in game radio.

It's a great game, but it was also rated that good. So it isn't overrated.

I just couldn't get on with this game or the first isntallment.

lol, i'm pretty confident that you'll like it, so you're welcome. :D in any case, there's a demo available so check it out. it has a 30 min time limit but near your starting point you'll find a military base with an attack chopper in it. commandeer that beast and find out how it feels to be at the giving end of superior fire power, oorah~

i had mercenaries 1 on ps2 then mercenaries 2 on ps3

both amazing games but i can never go for a replay, whereas just cause i played through atleast 3 times and loved it every time

I was so HIGH on this game got about 50% done and my PS3 hit the blinking red light of death and i lost all interest becuase it takes a lot of work to get that far but yes an amazin game especially the explosions

its 17 dollars on gamestop atm. I was planning on getting and it hasn't been in stock for at least a month. Local stores are cleared out of the game as well.

Definitely, one of the best sandbox games I've played. It had so much freedom, you could literally just do random crap for hours and have tons of fun while you're at it.

It was definitely a fantastic game. And I think it was a tad overlooked as well. Maybe. The gameplay and visuals are the best parts, although the shooting can be a bit sloppy sometimes. But Panau looks incredible.

The best thing is just the sheer amount of random crap the game lets you do. I don't have a particular example, but a quick search on youtube will net you some incredible videos. Not to mention all the freedom you get.

The ememies were a bit annoying after a while. I mean you kill 50 and then theres another set of eniemies to kill out of no where. Other than that it was a great game.

omfg.... this game is unbe-effing-lievable. now i'm James Bond, cruising the waves of tropical coasts on a high-powered speedboat; now i'm Bill Kilgore from Apocalypse Now, raining down righteous fire on fleeing villagers from my attack chopper; now i'm effing Rambo, bringing the one-man army to a military stronghold and slaughter me some 3rd world sorry arses; and then from its hanger i hijack a fighter jet and soar into the sun-set like Maverick in Top effing Gun. i'm bad, i'm high, i'm Jesus H Christ - and all that in a day's work. :D

iam sorry but it doesnot out shine red dead..i have the pc version of the game and yes the action is mind blowing..however doing the same thing over and over again is not so much fun.

Saying JC 2"far outshines" RDR is like saying Tron "far outshines" True Grit. Sure, Tron was fun to watch, and looked nice, but True Grit is the MOTY. The same with JC 2. It might be fun, and look nice, but RDR is the total package.

Anyway, I could never get into JC 2 because the claw thing was annoying when zipping between things. The shaky camera gave me headaches.

word. i've spent over 20 hours on it and my progress is still at 24%. more impressive still, the surprising variety of faction missions has managed to keep things fresh so far.
