Just got MGS4, need help on learning backstory

Alright so I just got MGS4 for $13 (Yes. I know what a steal right!) and I really wanna enjoy it as much as I can without picking up a ps1 and getting all the previous games. (ive got a ps2)

What are the other ways of getting through the story so i can kind of know whats going on?

Search up each of the previous games on Wikipedia. They give summaries on the stories :)

Beat me to it. I was in the same when I first started playing. Just read through the characters and the important events. You should get a pretty good idea of what's going on in the story

I say play the games, u will enjoy them even mgs 1 for the ps

play 1 and 3 prety much 2 is the same thing as 1 but its a simulation there i summed up the entire game of MGS2 :D

They database should help give a summary of the story but you really should play the games. You have the PS2 for MGS2 and MGS3 (which you should try Subsistence for, they rent it at Family Video for like $6.00.) And for MGS1 you can either download it from PSN or I think a lot of PS2's can play PS1 games. (At least mine can. Maybe she'sspecial!) And if you don't like the games try looking at the cutscenes or walkthroughs on Youtube.
