Just got Resistance FOM. Did I just throw away $30?

I have R:R, which creeps me out a little... :s

Sp\o I was between diving into the trilogy or getting BioShock,,, and I chose FOM. Was that a bad choice?

There's no way I would have chosen Resistance over Bioshock, but it was your decision. Perhaps you are more in the mood for a straight guns blazing shooter, otherwise the decision can't be justified. o_o

I wouldn't chose Resistance over Bioshock, but if you want the full experience of the saga then I say go for it. Resistance 2 is the best of the series so far.

I heard Bioshock is really good but i had Resistance FOM and i thought it was really great. Long storyline and a good one, online is ok... but no trophies which is annoying.

I hated Resistance. So my answer obviously is yes, you wasted 30 bucks, as did i. I gave the game away. Everyone goes on about how atmospheric Bioshock is and how great the story is, so that one intrigues me more.

First time I played Resistance I hated it. I came back to it 2 years later and loved it, can't really say why I just did, it gets better after about an hour (first time I didn't even give it an hour).

Bioshock is excellent and better than Resistance but no you didn't throw away your money, give it a chance, get past the first few levels and you will discover a great game.

Well its a good game so you didn't waste it, personally bioshock(which I bought on the 360) was an amazing game till it ended , after that I couldn't play the game past the first big daddy encounter. But that was just my opinion.

Bioshock is good, but rfom is gooder. You made the right choice, as 2k games also did a shoddy port of Bioshock for PS3. Developers who do not enhance PS3 versions to run as good as 360 versions deserve to be punished.....Best punishment is not to buy there games.

I rented Bioshock a couple of times for my 360, and while atmosphere and such is nice, the game gets really annoying, as it only has a very small amounts of enemy variety, the shooting mechanics and controls are not great, the underwater enviroment starts looking samely after a while, and the game has no replay value with online and such, whereas RFOM has a wicked online mode.

I bought Halo 3 without playing the first Halos. You can buy Restistance 2 without playing the first one.

My experience with Bioshock is one that I will never forget, the same can definetly not be said about R:FoM. I rented that game so I didn't waste any $ (actually didn't even have to pay for renting it either). I just couldn't get into it. I'm not at all saying that its a bad game, I just wasn't feeling it. As far as I know there's really nothing wrong with it. I got around 2-3 hours into it and I just quit playing. I'm sure I will eventually go back and finish it anyways, cause I do wanna play R2. I loved Bioshock, I beat that game on 360 and I got close to the end of it on PS3, I'm going to rent it again and finish it off. Can't wait for Bioshock 2!

I agree. It really picks up @ Manchester. However, I got it coming fro K2, and I miss the gorgeous inmersion in K2 :( . But I like it, for $30. I really got it because of the story.

Yes, I would get BioShock, but the price is a bit too sahbby ($40). I will, probably soon.

What I cannot WAIT for is Uncharted @ $30. I refuse to buy a 2 year old game for full $ but damn it is good.

I don't think you wasted the money, I personally enjoyed original Resistance single player more then R2 which in its own regard has fantastic multiplayer.

Bioshock on the other hand is my personal favorite FPS game so far this generation. :)

http://product.half.ebay.com/Resistance-Fall-of-Man_W0QQprZ53681681QQtgZinfo you wasted around 15 bucks and well, bioshock is unlike most other games, whereas r fom, not that it is a bad game, is pretty much just your average generic run of the mill fps. both games serve their purpose of entertainment, although i will say that bioshock may leave you with a higher level of satisfaction than fom

There both solid rents. Don't buy into the "BIOSHOCK is the greatest game ever" because it's not. Great game but nothing mind blowing as how every xbox fan hyped it too be. Too answer your question.... Maybe, give the game a shot and try playing with a buddy for co-op play while your add it.

yes. Because there is a Resistance 2.

R:FoM is significantly better than R2, so no, you did not waste money.

That being said, I have not played Bioshock yet.

I think youve thrown away 30 dollars, not because RFOM is rubbish (it isnt) but because you can get it much cheaper than that nowadays. Its 5 pounds where I live (about 8 dollars), used but still good.

bioshock is amazing, but i have been so cash strapped lately, that i cant justify buying a game that doesnt go the extra mile, bioshock is one of the best games out but, sooner or later you will get tired of it, or either stop playing once you get the platinum, RFom on the other hand has an awsome single player, and it has a sweet multiplayer that kept me engrossed for over a year. there both good games, but expect RFom to have more DLC down the line, i doubt theres gonna be anything for bioshock now thats theres a sequel announced. im not saying dont get bioshock, cuz you will be missing out, but i think you made a wise choice.

AHAHAHAhahlolomg. That will NEVER happen in the US.

Check out these insane asking prices:

New-

Uncharted (2 years old) - $60

Heavenly Sword (3 (?) years old) - $60

Folklore (ditto) - $60

LAIR FOR GODS SAKE - $60

The lowest you will find any of these for is $30, if your lucky (supposedly some WalMarts in Seattle had Uncharted @ $30, but not here :( )

Even GRAW 2 is $30. And that Ubisoft. Used is onlylike $5-10 less.

I hate you Sony. But I like your products (were still cool)
