Ken Levine confirms there will be NO PS3 version of BIOSHOCK!

"Joystiq just got off the phone with Ken Levine, lead designer for BioShock, and was told that the PC version's issues are overblown because the game's high profile has placed it under a microscope. He fully admits they "screwed up" and notes that patches are most definitely in the works. Furthermore, there is no PS3 version of BioShock in development or planned.

Then there is the lingering question of the rumored PS3 version of BioShock found in the PC code. Levine responds quite clearly, "I promise you, there is no secret plan about the PS3 that we're keeping from people. There's no PS3 development going on that we're hiding. There's lots of stuff that gets into game code, plans change over time and we got an exclusive deal with Microsoft ... that's not a Rosetta Stone discovery."

Remember when the creator of RE4 said that the game would never go on PS2, and if it did he would cut his own head off? Devs. say this kinda stuff all the time. Nothing is oncived at this moment in time, but a year down the road they may say, "Hey, lets bring this awesome game to the PS3 so it can look even better and we can make some money. You guys don't understand, when companies say X game will never come to system, sure they mean it. However it doesn't mean that any future tweaks to the game will not.

Bioshock: Big Sisters for example, can come out for the PS3. Similar to MGS2: Subsistance or whatever it was called.

Exactly, Just like Hideo Kojima with MGS4. If he dosent want MGS4 on the 360, then its not going to the 360. Its as simple as that.

BTW: I would love for Cliffy B to come out during a MS press conference and tell everyone that his game is going to PS3 and give aJohnCena sizedF U to Bill Gates. (of course, thats a death sentence. Gates could have you erased if he wanted to.)

He is talking to ken levine the guy that wrote the story and did the creative direction basicly the main guy for both versions pc and 360.

Ive been saying this all week that theres definitly an exclusive deal, ive posted facts to prove that exclusive deal but people just keep denying it and saying it would come to ps3 one day.

Its like the 360 fangirls refuse to admitt mgs4 is exclusive to ps3.

Hopefully this will put an end to bioshock on ps3 and we can talk about real ps3 topics, although i feel for those ps3 only owners as bioshock is awesome just got it today played around an hours and its amazing so far.

WHAT, the graphics are overhyped, so every reviewer so far has overhyped the graphics, nonsense, bioshock is one of the most beautiful next gen games out so far, i own both ps3 and 360 and ps3 has nothing that graphicly compares to bioshock out yet, but it will.

Yes money talks, microsofts money that paid for exclusive rights for bioshock.

No matter how much money sony offered they couldnt make it for ps3 unless they broke the contract with microsoft which they would then be sued for millions, its not going to happen unless its a timed exclusive but all the evidence points towards a 360 and gfw exclusive game, it even says on the box only on xbox360 and windows.

What are you crazy, gears of war is a first party game, microsoft would have paid towards development costs and they paid millions for marketing, and gears of war is an exclusive franchise.

Cliffy b does not do what he wants he does what the owner of epic tells him to,what the manager tells him to mike epps or something and he will do what mark rein tells him to. cliffy b doesnt own epic or is even in management he is a lead designer.

Epic brought gears to pc because microsoft let them or that was the deal in the first place, its only going to be on microsoft platforms.

I kind of agree that the guy that posted this was looking for a bit trouble, but ive seen you in bioshock topics this week talking about it coming to ps3 and then somebody gives some facts straight from the horses mouth and you start talking rubbish.

Its nothing alike, mgs4 is a thrid party game publsihed by konami and developed by kojima productions, theres a possibilty that could come to 360 although i doubt it.

Where as gears of war is a first party game published by microsoft, and microsoft have an exclusive deal for a gears of war trilogy.

Gears of war 1,2 or 3 will not be on ps3.

People really need to do some homework before making silly comments.

Games can go to different publishers. But you could be right. I'm still being honest about Cliffy B... he does whatever the hell he wants.

Games like gears of cannot go to different publishers, or games like bioshock, gears is a massive success and is an exclsuive microsoft franchise, epic can not take gears to midway or gears2 or3 and say publish our game because they have a deal with microsoft and that exclusive 360 deal has made them millions and probably there most succesful game yet they are not going to screw up a good thing.

And once again cliffy b does not make decisions on things like this for epic, sweeny mark rein and that other guy mike somthing they are the top dogs at epic.

don't care. Even if there is a bioshock on ps3, I am not planning on buying it. I did not buy it for PC, why would I buy it if it is on ps3. I pass on this game. Just notmy type. that's all.

That's pretty stupid to think that anyone would pull that Ken gave an absolute no to a PS3 version. He ONLY said that they are CURRENTLY not coding for a PS3 port. This means many things, namely that they are working on PC/360 patches to address issues in the game, and WHY would they start coding a PS3 port just two days after it's release?

There will very likely be a PS3 version, Oblivion was never supposed to hit PS3, then suddenly it did - so all of you 360 fanboys who keep posting that it's not coming to the PS3 need to just go back to your Xbox 360 furnace of a game setup and try to not get the manual pages stuck together.
