I find Killzone 2's single player and multiplayer more satisfying in almost every aspect, tho R2 does get points for having split-screen online and one of the best co op modes ive played.
Resistance 2 and 1 are both very good games and I loved playing them, but Killzone 2 just raised the bar in regarding the quality of an FPS. It simply was amazing.
i own both and trere are awesome games, i personally prefer the onlineco-op mode of resistance 2 witch is pure fun, but killzone 2 has better competitive, there are two different games and you can't compere them, owning is the best compination.
kz2 is the overall better game, like mentioned before, look at what it did for fps in general, it set the bar. That being said r2 is one of my favorite games ever. It has an amazing co op portion. The online was flawless. it had no lag server side. and till this day the community is still very live. It hit the market at the right time as well. I was extremely board of cod 4, and held me over until kz2. Both quality games.
Killzone 2. Resistance 2 was good it just felt a bit rushed. Something was missing. Don't get me wrong, everyone should play R2 but Killzone 2 felt complete and felt overall different and better.
Killzone 2 > Resistance 2. Resistance 2 was an average game. There wasn't anything special seperating it from any other shooter. Sure it had some things like cool guns but the novelty wore off quickly.
The first resistance I couldn't get into. The second was enough of an improvement to get me interested in the game enough to complete it. Good not great. On the other hand I had a hard time putting Killzone 2 down. Great single player and multi-player. Only after MW2 came out did killzone 2 get a rest.
i havent beaten kz2 yet but i have played well into the campaign and have beaten resistance 2
i also have played both online and i say resistance 2.
the story is just better to me and those boss battles are pretty epic.. kz2 looks alot better though graphics wise. and the online for resistance is so much fun except for people using the wraith >_>
and i mean cmon in kz2 the single player gets a lil tiring killing the same helghast people over and over... resistance has more variety in enemies and surprises
i can't say i like either of them. Resistance doesn't interests me that much and when i tried to play kz2 i always had the feeling that the controls are kinda broken.
Resistance 2 was such a terrible game imo. Aside from the co-op feature, it was a total waste of my money, and I didn't even enjoye the co-op that much. The campaign was so dull and generic, and the multiplayer had little more going for it than match size. Killzone 2, while far from my favorite offline shooter, had great graphics, fun shooting mechanics, and some of my favorite online FPS play. So it's an easy choice imo.
Both games are great. R2 has the better story in my opinion, but online play in more fun on R2. Co op on R2 is amazing though and made this a hard call between the two.
The general idea of what a game is focusing on. Resistance series. Really interesting in what its about and the setting, along with the feel but jeez this series needs an overhaul after 2. What a disaster compared to one. Though I did like some thing about the 2nd. Arizone and chicago were extremely neat and unique for a linear fps.
I never played the 1st resistance, but i did get the 2nd one and i enjoyed it alot. EPIC boss fights, Killzone 2 got my vote simply because I been a fan of the game since ps2 days, plus those graphics! they're both fun games all around

That a boy! I enjoyed kz1 as well, not enormously but enough to give it a chance. Something not many people here were willing to do which is a shame. Sure it had its flaws but beneath them was a game that was easy to see how it could have been a gem for its time.
