Killzone 2 Shotguns

Is anyone els sick of the insanely good shotguns in killzone 2? I mean these things can kill you from impossible lengthes without a headshot. Iv been killed easily from more then 7 feet away with full health. Do you think they will patch it so theyre not as powerfull?

Shotguns are MORE powerful than a rifle, from within a certain range.

What you're trying to say is take away the shotgun all together? Or make it weaker so you can kill them easier and make the shotgun nonexistant? :roll:

i'm gonna agree the shotguns are crap...i've had times where i'd be right in front of someone shoot them with the shotgun and they wouldnt die but they would turn around and kill me with a handgun (noobs) lol .....it's something the game needs to fix.....shotguns, handguns and rockets........oh well tho the game is still fun

If they decrease the power of the shotgun, then they should increase the effective range. Nonstop-Madness

Change the range? Buddy that's a realistic distance .. have you ever seen a shotgun fired? Ever?

You do know .. nine rounds come out from one shot right?

It's supposed to be POWERFUL! :evil: besides, unless you're just totally unskilled, anyone should be able to take out a shotgun-wielding noob if they're at any distance away from you easily with a machine gun. A headshot, or 2 or 3 shots to the chest can take them out before they can even fire a shot...Doolz2024

The shotgun was truly the only weapon I posessed any skill in using. I just couldn't get the aiming down on the machine guns.

I hate seeing a rifle at long range while holding my shotgun. You either have to charge strategically or run away. And shotgun vs. shotgun is 50-50. I actually think shotgun users would be at a disavantage most of the time without the turrets. It is nice every now in then charging into a room and taking out 4 of 5 Helgast.

I don't really think it's that big of a deal. A lot of the maps aren't even good for shotguns, so why take away from the few levels where they are effective. Would you rather it be a horrible shotgun like the one in Resistance 2? You literally had to stick it down their throat and shoot a double shot to kill someone, that wasn't very good at all.

nine rounds is just in Buck Shot, any other type has way more, can be over 100.

Remember the shotgun in Resistance 1 though. Now that was a shotgun. It was my favorite part about Resistance 1 online.

lol it was especially with the Chimera. I don't know hwy they made it so bad in R2. The update they did shortly after it was released made it even worse. The Kz2 shotgun I think is fair, it kills in 1 hit up close, just like a shotgun is supposed to do

i thought the shotguns in kz2 were close to useless cos i had a lot of trouble aiming with them

if im not mistaken people actually hunt birds with shotguns. And they are much furthur than seven feet , plus they arent using high tech bloody combat shotguns. Id say that the shotguns on kz2 is even a little short ranged for a realistic shotgun. i mean a shotgun where you need to be arms length away would be pretty bloody useless dont you think

Depends on the barrel length, and shot. From 7 ft, you could kill someone with any shot and guage. that's just basic common knowledge. with a decent barrel 36" or so and a Model 870, Remington with slugs you could extend your distance, even with buckshot. what i'm getting at is the longer the barrel the tighter the pack the farther your range. totally possible
