killzone 2 trailer was disapointing,its jsut looks like a gears of war COPY

ok so i played killzone one and i have to say its one of my FAVORITE games, i dont know why people dont like it that much.

I was REALLY looking forawrd to killzone 2, and there it came disapointing me VERY VERY much.

I expected something that DIDNT look like Gears Of War, wtf the setting, HUMAN charactars, guns, and graphics look EXACTLY like Gears of War. I DONT LIKE gears of war, i think its not that good, and i hope killzone isnt going to be like it.

The setting is like your going to fight HUGE monster like in gears of war WTF?? its sooo not kool.

I hope the game turns ou to be wat i liked it to be because what i see is gears of war and nothin else in this game.

i played and beat both aswell, but why are you even comparing killzone1 that came out years ago with gears of war a game ona stronger platform?

PS Killzone 2 was in development LONG before anyone really knew how GeOW was going to be, so Guerilla games did not COPY GeOW, that's idiotic, it does not resemble GeOW in anyway besides the fact that it's a shooter.archpro

thats not true. GoW has been in production a lot longer then KZ2. GoW and Unreal Tourn 3 have been in prodcution for nearly 3-4yrs. KZ2 is 2 yrs. Why do you think that they had to show off CGI last year for E3.

i have played and beate both how can you say its like gears of war, have you played killzone 2 NOOOO! plus no aliens gears has aliens, k2 FPS gears third person, i didnt see anything that suggested same cover system as gears, so what are you talking about. this game reminds me nothing of gears if you think becuase they both have human characters as heros and both shoot guns than yah i guess but did you see the battlefield and the storms that were going on, i just dont get your thinking on this one

If its release date was for Sept 07 and then start of 08, then thats just alpha build. Alpha is around 6 months before the release generally. It could be pre-alpha, but I doubt it since were 6-8 months away from release of this game

Killzone 2 doesn't resemble Gears of War at all. GeOW is a 3rd person SiFi/alien game. Killzone 2 is also a SiFi game but that's were their similarities end. Killzone has a very cinematic/squad based game. GeOW is a action movie put into video game format. I think Killzone was a lot more down to earth. And yes, I did play both. I played the original more than anyone else here on this site. Doubt me? I played over 800+ hours of online in my first 2 years of the game. I've had it since launch.

Im no fanyboy of any console, im a consumer, but yea i usually play al my fps games on the PC, so where are these PC forums you talk about that "agree" with you that these 2 games look alike?

anyways just to let you know, gears isnt even a first person shooter. did you see any Alien like beings in the KZ trailor? i didnt, but im sure you will see alien type creatures on gears. oh yea, did you see anyone rolling around, going from cover to cover in the KZ trailor? i didnt, but you will see it in gears.did you see ppl going around sticking grenades in people? i didnt, but you see that all the time in gears online....what a sec, are you even sure you've played gears?

The level of detail was Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay better than Gears of War, there was $#i@ flying every where, numerous enemies on the screen along with the rest of your squad, A Helghast bleeding out to death gasping for his last breath and crawling praying for mercy. Gears could not do that.

Well you can't please everyone theres always a majority and a minority but as far as i know KZ2 trailer is the majority. To think its only Pre-pre alpha and I can safely say its up there with GoW in grahpics but the intensisty,atmoshphere, surroundings, feel of war and sound is by far better then any fps i haveplayed and watched.These day's every game you see is a copy of something get over it.

You are kind of an idiot. Wait, no you're just a silly immature fanboy who needs to grow up.

The new Killzone looks alot like the older one, except for one thing really, and thats it has a bit of a darker color to it. Which I think looked pretty sweet. Comparing Killzone 2 to Gears of War is not an insult. Far from it. Since Gears of War is one of the single most impressive games on the market right now. (visually)

Really you just complimented Killzone. Comparing Killzone to Gears of War is insulting to Gears of War. But after seeing this trailer... eh I'm still on the fence. Sure some of the animation was choppy, and the game had dull looking enviroments, and it had some lag, and some of the enemy AI messed up, but from what I saw I was actually kinda impressed. And I'm one of the people who has been mocking the game since day one. The Helghast actually look smarter this time, and they look to bring some well needed variety to the Helghast forces, what with those chaingun guys.

But to be honest, Crysis and Bioshock look much much much better then Killzone 2. Killzone 2 simply can't compare. (again visually)

Eitherway, I'm not amazed with the Killzone 2 footage. Not at all. I'm just surprised it doesn't look like a steaming pile of crap. But what really matters is how the gameplay holds up.
