killzone 2 trailer was disapointing,its jsut looks like a gears of war COPY

I bought Gears of War so I could play it on my nephew's 360, since it didn't make sense to buy a system for only one game when I already had a PS3. This trailer did not feel like Gears of War. The characters looked more human, for one thing, not overly large and muscle bound (forgive me Jay for criticizing your design). The environment we were shown looked more like a Japanese city than it did some gothic place like in Gears. The only thing that you could say was remotely close was the way blood was handled and that the big guy with the gun was reminiscent of a Boomer. I've never played the first Killzone so if that guy was in there then there goes that complaint, right?

I own both games and have finished both

gears of war is a game type in its self first its a third person shooter and its big slow sluggish guys with huge guns who use lots of cover, the lighting in the killzone trailer looked similar yes and it does seem like you can hid behind things but thats a cool game feature and why wouldnt you want it and not to mention that one level and the thing i love about killzone is that it goes through tons of different ladscapes so that was only one level come on

That's like saying Tom Cruise is a man... C'mon now, they are nothing alike. Where do you come up with this stuff, honestly. First of Gears of war is a 3rd person shooter, this isn't. Killzone is a game that takes wars that have happened in our past, and tries to throw those into a game, and make it more epic feeling. GeoW just throws some aliens at you, and say's have fun with this chainsaw. Killzone 2 looks like it had a lot, and i mean a lot of on screen actiong going at one time, GeoW really didn't have that much.

KZ2: humans vs. humans(or i think helghast are humans)

Geow: Humans vs. Aliens, well correction, about 4 humans vs. aliens

KZ2 looked great. i can't wait to play it. and no comparrison to any other game, gears of war or not, can take that away. the fact that you can be disappointed in the preview from the conference is just plain weird. your expectations must be so high, they are unreachable. whatever happened to being excited about good games, despite the system they are on???

also, i think it's silly to try to convince anyone that it was a gears of war clone, when GOW is a clone of so many action movies already done and told. (ummm predator???) don't get me wrong... i love playing GOW, but how can you try to claim it's original over other games. GOW was simply executed better than most games.

i'm finally excited again about the ps3 again, which is remarkable after such a dismal year.

currently playing the darkness on 360 BTW and loving it.

Gears of War -Third Person Shooter, limited destructable elements, smaller maps but intense firefights

Killzone 2- First Person Shooter (lots of destructable elements), so far more ememies on screen in big interactive environment.

Gears definately has better textures but overall I think Killzone looks better.

Have you seen the extended trailer when they were talking in the middle of thewar with everything going on all at once in real time gameplay when they just landed. The details of the soldiers and thier faces is nothing like we seen in any game before---this not coming from me as well but from people who actually seen the gameplay in action at E3...

the e3 05' trailer didn't have that much crazy crap going on at one time. Did you see the clouds swirl around the other Transport Carrier, when they pulled up? Did you see the Sky? The lightning, and the way the Helghast now die when shot... that alone is amazing.... the blood affects? You look at 05, yes character models were more detailed, but you gotta look at the whole picture.

i liked gears single player, but multiplayer got BORING really quick for me.

The guy is obviously blind, Killzone 2 looks amazing and he's saying it's like Gears of War from seeing nothing but a trailer, Why is it that every FPS game that comes out that has great graphics gets compared to Gears of War? Killzone 2 isn't even a threat to Gears of War anymore as far as graphics go, It SURPASSED it in it's Pre-pre-Alpha stage, Lol.

I was owned yes. It's hawt and most enjoyable. Mmmm owngasm.

But the point of the CGi trailer was to only point to things of interests, like the friendly soldiers and certain high lights of the enviroment. That is why they recieved the most amount of detail while the enviroments looked somewhat barren in areas. The majority of the Helghast soldiers we saw in the CGI trailer were somewhat far away from the user. And they also had a sun setting behind them, which casts a shadow on their person and a majority of their body was simply unable to be seen because they were only in the camera's view for a second or two, which is why they looked somewhat under detailed compared to the rest. If a Helghast soldier was closer in view, he would have been much more detailed then that what we have seen in the In game footage.

Which is not final yes I know, but games usually never recieve absolutely huge face lifts when they are at an alpha stage, they will look better in the final product, but not leagues better. Unless of course the game's release is pushed back to late 08 or 09. If that was the case then the game would probably look much much better.

I think it's already been confirmed that Killzone 2 will have online play. A gamethis big, and with this much hype, plus the fact that it's a shooter should mean that online play is guaranteed.Shadowhawk2606

I'm not even sure if you watched the same trailer as we have.

What ever gave you the idea in the whole footage that it was a Gears clone, I have Gears and let me tell you right now, it's not in any way like it.

Killzone 2's gameplay really kicked ass. It was very close to the trailer before (from what I can see) and surely debunked that the gameplay before was a fake.

I can't wait to get my hands on this game...it rocks.

Killzone probably will be pushed back tothe summer of08 which will only piss people off.... like i will be super duper pissed off but we will see whether or not the final problem has all the bugs worked out and the graphics up to par... guerilla has come to far to screw up now... and if they doo shame on them for having our hopes this high lol.....i hope they didnt forget about the gameplay when they were making these impressive graphics... but the guns appear to becompletely up to par with the CGI trailer :) soo that is a plus.... and the enemies do seem to react depending on where they are shot... seems like some special rag doll type sort of physics cuz if u pay attention while they are falling and dieing and being shot the shots cause them to move realistically while they are falling lol
