[QUOTE="ReaperV7"]you'd be a fool to pass this game. DO NOT compare it to killzone 1. Thats all im gonna say. kr8to
Â
lol i thought killzone1 was great :(, how do you get the beta version?
Â
lol no i meant the development quality. dont compare the develpement quality to killzone 1. Guerilla was just an independent developer acquired by sony later on. Their budget for killzone 1 was low. However times are different. I think there is a $21 million budget for killzone 2 development or something like that.Â
Â
for the beta you needed to apply for it a while back. Theres no way to get in now ( to my knowledge)Â
Shouldn't you wait for February to come first, not counting all the rush of PS3 games coming out as of late?
And maybe even, I dunno, wait for more reviews instead of hands-on beta previews?
i still dont understand why people still ask if we should tell them if they should buy a game? i mean dont u have ur own opinion? id understand if u asked the beta people how it was and if its solid game and wat not. but people need to stop and either rent or wait for a review. wat if i liked it and others did but u didnt? and we told u to buy it? everyone got their own taste and u should develope urs as well.
by the way im not tryin to make fun of u or diss u, but honestly.....anyways if u do want my opinion, well as far as i seen and read and i have a friend who is playing it, so far good solid game and GG is coming through with wat they said and the game is shaping up pretty well. so hope that helps u alil, but u do need to have ur own opinion and trust urs mostly
definately a 1st day buy for me..... KZ2 looks amazing and from positive feedback of gamers who made it in the beta + positive previews by the media seems like gameplay is great too..
It's a buy. You don't have to think that Killzone 2 will not be good just because the first Killzone is bad. It was about 3 years since the dev't of Killzone 2 and Guerilla has corrected their past mistakes of what they did with the first Killzone. Killzone 2 is gorgeous! Well, you still have 3 months to think about it.
It's 3 months away..
Nothing anyone says is valid, unless they're in the beta.

People's statements on how the game is going to turn out may not be valid... (unless they're in the beta like you mentioned) But I'm not understanding why you believe "nothing anyone says is valid." From my perspective this thread is about whether or not people plan on buying it or not. How could you say that someone who says they plan on buying the game is not valid?
I think I understand where your coming from. My guess is that you believe people will base their decision on whether or not to buy the game on how well the gameplay mechanisms and story turns out. In my case however this does not matter. I plan on buying the game simply due to being a fan of the first Killzone.
Basically what I'm saying is the beta or people's opinions on the final product will have no effect on whether I buy the game or not, and I'm not entirely sure why you believe this isn't valid? It's a matter of preference IMO, I don't really need any solid facts, if I want it, I'll buy it .. (which I plan on doing).

No, no, no. TC said "I was wondering if I should get this game," instantly meaning "Tell me if I should get this game."Naturally, people are going to answer.
The problem with this is, they can say "Buy" or "Pass," but it will be only based on impressions of other people's opinions, which to me, doesn't matter.
And being in the beta completely changes that, because you've played the game and you're able to form your own opinion based on your experience, and not someone else.

Um... is the gameplay footage in your sig real? I mean, it has to be... but it's pretty unbelievable. Yeah, I just watched some beta-footage on Youtube and saw some more stuff that made me forget to breathe. I'm just surprised because it honestly looks better than the PC FPS's I've seen... including Crysis, which I know people are going to disagree with, but I have never seen an FPS that looks so real. Did you notice also that the co-op NPCs are extremely well done? I wonder what it's like to be in the beta of this thing, to be forced to believe that this game is not a fantasy. The $400 I spent on my PS3 now seem to pale in comparison to what it would cost for a PC to run games looking this good. Wow.Â
Well, since Killzone 2 looks very impressive in terms of scale, detail, and even gameplay. It seems like an instant buy. However, it's still very hard to make a decision when you haven't had a review for the game, or touched the game because it's not out yet.
In my opinion, if Killzone 2 can keep a feel like COD4's MP, but make it different and unique, then it will be a great game.

What about people who say "buy" based on the sole fact that they are a fan of the original, which has nothing to do with impressions on anyones opinion but there own? Thats what I was trying to say. What makes this invalid? Simply an opinion/preference.
