So I came home drunk Friday night, decided to fire up a few COD4 matches, well while waiting for the game to load I passed out, headset on and all, and I woke up 9 hours later, system still on, game still on. Should I be worried about system life in the long run, or am I being paranoid. Thank you in advance...

You have nothing to be worried about, it's like leaving your computer on all day it's not going to hurt it. I always pass out to DVD's and wake up to the main menu, and I've never had a problem.
I'm sure a machine like the PS3 is built to withstand many hours of activity. I remember I used to leave my xbox1 on for days and it still works. ( i think it still works, i sold it about a year ago.)
if you passed out for 9 hours, then you were probably kicked from the server you were on. This means that your PS3 spent most of that time displaying a server list, which puts no strain on the system, so it's all good.
LOL, that's interesting. I've done that years ago with my Gameboy Color but that's about it, since I'm not drinking anymore and I want to take care of my PS3 better than anything.

ive done it with my gameboy advance and it almost killed me!!! it burnt my bed and i got a 1st degree burn
dude thats not bad at all me and some friends were playing one night late and very drunk i fell into the tv stand knocking my dvd/vcr player 3 feet onto the front of my ps3 leaving a huge gash right below the playstation 3 logo... you don't know what its like to see my baby scared every time i play it... :(
