Since all the current in game footage of GTA 4 has been from the 360 version. I'm starting to believe thatthegame is leading on the 360, and then later being ported to the PS3. That bothers me, because we all know how well most of the 360 to PS3 ports have been so far. I'm also hoping that the PS3 hardware being difficult to program for, isn't causing so much trouble that it may actually hurt the PS3 version of the game. It's kinda of annoying to constantly see 360 versions of multi-platform titles running game-play footage, before we even see the in game footage of the PS3 version running. I know it has alot to do with the fact that 360 is easier to work on, plus it's been out longer so devs have had more time to work on the hardware than they have the PS3. I know that this whole situation will most likely balance itself out in the future. Maybe even getting to the point where we see more multi-platform games leading on the PS3, and then later being ported over to the 360. Just kinda frustrating though, when it's pretty much known by most that the PS3 is the most powerful console out of the 3, but we're seeing all the multi-platform games running on the 360, well before we see them running on the PS3.

I'm wondering how much free space the blu-ray versionis going to get:? ... sinceRockstar has to make an equal game on the PS3 compared to xbox360. Biggest issue is the xbox306 uses a slightly less big media disc... so now people are getting **** yeah i'm one of 'em.:(

Is there a written rule or something that says that you have to make a game run equally on both systems. Even if one system is capable of doing more than theother.

The PS3 actually is better for this kind of game, so i wouldn't worry about it, I think they are going to use texture streaming, if they do the ps3 version actually could be better, its way too early to tell though.

The game is being built from the ground up on both machines. There is no porting involved.

Is there some kinda of rule that a game developed on one system has to be exactly the same length as the other? If Blu-Ray can handle more content, and they actually want to put a lot more content than 8 gigs, how is it fair that the PS3 version should conform to the 360's differential?

You know I just don't understand why they can't just give us an extra 100 songs for the radio, or maybe 5000 extra songs on 60 different stations on the PS3 version if they're too lazy to add actual game content... I mean 360 owners will be able to listen to whatever they want while playing the game, while we're stuck with the ingame music. It doesn't make any sense AT ALL, 360 gets all the extra content when we have 16GB of extra space to be used, I mean really WTF is goin on, this is ludicris, they have enough space to put 2 GTAIV games on the Blu-ray and...

I mean really think about it thats enough to put what at least 8000 songs on the radio, but I bet we won't get one extra song... lol this is too funny, Developers don't care about nothin but the bottom line

I think the GTA4 360 version do not have enough space to fit all the contents into the DVD, that's why they had to do the extra downloadable contents seperately...... GTA4 for PS3 fits all of the stuff into the blu-ray and the blu-ray still have all of the space left. therefore GTA4 PS3 version dont have to deal with the downloadable contents. That's what blu-ray for. Yeah, baby!

Where are you getting this info from? They've said nothing about the PS3 getting the content that 360 is getting... I know you want what you said to be the case, but that doesnt make it true

There's nothing to worry about. The reason why some port are bad on th ePS3 is because the developer didn't take their time and being lazy on it. I am sure Rockstar isn't like that and the game will turn out to be excellent and have no issues.

The "exclusive content" for GTA IV on the 360 is exactly that, exclusive. M$ paid millions for it, and they have reasonably good lawyers. ;)

The game started development prior to either system being available, but due to early availability of dev systems for the X360, it only makes sense that you would show the game on that first, since you have had more time to debug. This doesn't have to impact the final game, that depends on R* dedication and quality control.

The size limits have been acknowledged to be a problem by R*, but they have said they don't anticipate any significant problems. The biggest issue I worry about is the rampant use of streaming from the disc in VG. In these situations, the PS3 is always at a disadvantage since the BD-ROM is only double speed. This is why the those vidoes on you tube show a significantly longer load time for the same game between the PS3 and X360. The easiest fix is a partial install to the HDD for the PS3, which could potentially make it faster and smoother.

All in all, only time will tell.

the PS3 allows for developers to use music stored on your hard drive, the developers themselves are the ones responsible for putting that feature in the game. so calm down and do some damn research.

Agreed.

dissagreed. Rockstar said that they have been working on this game for about 3 years now and Sony didn't give out their dev kits since late 2005.

Well, it's not really about what console has more capability in this matter, it's about licensing and fairness to the other console owners. If Rockstar were to put a lot more content on the PS3, Microsoft would have one hell of a fit, and probably either fine the company, or not allow the company to make any more X360 games because of the breach of contract. Plus Microsoft just payed the company 50 million to have exclusive episodic content for GTA4. That's how Microsoft gets their content, they pay the company millions and charge quite a bit for the episodes on Xbox live. In sony's case, you could fit all those episodes and the full GTA4 game on one Blu-ray disk, so you only have to pay once for the game.

Disagreed. Thats what you call pre production son. Working on a game doesn't necessarily mean working with a dev kit on a game.

If it goes from the PS3 to the 360 then we have nothing to worry about and yes if it starts out from 360 the PS3 suffers thats how it works PS3 gets it first we win!

Rockstar will make their money if it's good or bad... hopefully they don't shaft the 360 or the PS3 version.

But where is there a "fairness" stipulation? If that were the case, the very fact that they're able to get exclusive material appended to the 360 version of the game, whilst not allowing any for the PS3, would give Sony legal precedent to bring Take-Two to court--But they're not.

Microsoft, as well as its consumers, may throw a fit, but that doesn't give them jurisprudence. So they made their system to the specs of an inferior disc format; that doesn't mean other consoles should have to suffer for their mistake.

And Microsoft's console department couldn't afford to ban Rockstar as a developer.

Could be cool if they used the "unused" space on the BD to put the older games on...not gonna happen though...

The only thing I would be worried about when it comes to PS3 is it seems everyone wants it to fail, since when did Walmart become the Leading Playstation Game store? Every major game store in my city doesnt have half the selection of P3 games that walmart has haha pathetic
