Lag, lag and away we go!

I am using a wired connection and have done since I got this PS3 system approx a year ago. Just recently (since starting playing MW2) my connection has turned to absolute rubbish.....I can get online okay, but with a slight lag problem that gradually gets worse, then shuts down the connection altogether and gives me the ''you have lost connection with Activision nonesense''!! this in turn then chucks me off the playstation!! I have no understanding of this technology and am getting rather miffed at the situation. Can anyone out there in techieland aid my plight?......what can be done, how do I do it etc?

My internet provider (Talk Talk) tells me that nothing is wrong with the general connection and I am getting 8 thingymijigs of whatever the system needs to get online (you know what I mean!!)

You need a better connection and/or ISP.

Try getting a diffferent provider, BT if you in (UK) is probblry the best provider and if its still bad it could be thatyour telephone linecant handle it!

OH also if you live too far away from the telephone exchange it will affect your broadband speed.
