LBP Deserves 10, not 9.5

This game has a lot going for it, and only lately, the news has been getting much better such as more tools to create levels, more costumes etc. This game deserves a 10. I'm sorry but 9.5 just isn't good enough for me IMO.Furi-Kun

I have played the beta, plus a little of the full, and the things you can do in the game are simply amazing. No, I don't cry over reviews.

I think its a perfect score(better then eurogamer's). Deal with it.Flippedout

Technically a perfect score would have been a 10. Unless we're using the 9.5 scale of grading.

I think the two recent 10's have changed everybody's expectations. I don't expect any game this fall to get a 10, because there are so many great games coming out that the reviewers will have their expectations rising.Sheps21

So ur not buying because it got a 9.5 instead of a 10. Thats just ridiculous because last time I heard, anything over a 9 is a great game.

I think that this game deserves a 10/10 too, but I am expecting a 9-9.5.

Lower your expectations because the bigger they are, the harder they fall (and in this case, I am talking about your LBP Hype Train).

It will be a great game, I am not ruling out a 10/10, but to be upset with a 9.5 is a bit selfish and greedy.

Which is exactly the same as IGN. Which makes me wonder where you're getting your information from.

At any rate, you have to keep in mind that reviewers are done by individual people. IGN isn't a sentient entity in the business of reviewing games. It's a business that employs people to rate their games. One reviewer may have given MGS4 a 10 - which they did - but another might have given it a 9 or 9.5, yet cited reasons. There's a reason why review sites cite the author of their articles, ya know.

There's no winning with some of you people. Seriously, there isn't. Imagine had MGS4 been given a 9. How many people would have moaned? Well that situation has happened before with the "infamous" 8.8 for Twilight Princess here - which is a more than justified score when you read the review.

But nobody reads reviews. Silly me. They just look at the score and make assumptions.

Wait what happened did GS change its rating system again, why on earth are people complaining about 9.5 and why do people look at the score only and don't read the review of the game.I watched a lot of gamelay of the game and I must say there are a lot of talented gamers out there who are making great levels which seem a lot of fun.

It is kinda funny that people say it deserves a 10/10 could be because these guys have been in SW and noticed that some fanboys are in damaged control and saying if it gets 9.5 or 9 is a flop.

Please if you like the game and think it is worth playing then there is no need to complain about something like this.

ign gave mgs4 (which i obviously love) 10 but it was almost as much watching as playing.

they gave gta4 10 which was incredibly repetitive and had annoying friends and less gameplay than the previous installment.

LBP is nothing but gameplay, creativity, and community. and all aspects are done incredibly well. and consider how easily this could have utterly failed! it totally deserves a 10 from GS.

and after seeing a million stage demos of the game on this website i'd be surprised and sort of bewildered if it doesn't get a 10.

i mean, we've seen "today on "on the spot" LBP!" a hundred times i swear. not too mention several hands ons and previews.

its like in the oscars, you'll see romance, war, drama, and even some dark comedy thrown into the mix for best picture year after year. it doesn't matter the genre, the best games deserve the best scores.

Everyone doesn't need to give it tens .... but lets hope we don't see too many scores below 9. This game really nails what it set out to do .... charm us and inspire us.

we should be happy it's getting a 9.5 maybe they saving there 10 for a crap box exclusive.

Some people are never satisfied. 9.5 is an amazing score.

I'm curious what other titles were used for comparison when giving the 9.5. I would think LBP would be genre defining.

Kinda like how MGS4 was stealth action defining, and GTAIV was sandbox defining.

9.5 is higher than I expected. MUCH higher. I expected an 8.5 or a 9.

I am thrilled however that this game looks like a success, and so I'll definately be getting this on day one.

Tell you what- you think it deserves a 10? Then write your own review, rate it as such and blog it. Why get all pissy because one person scored a game lower than you think it should be? It's one opinion, not the be-all, end-all word about the game's quality. People need to get over these scores and actualy read what was said about it.lyndonAPI

Honestly they should get rid of alpha and numeric grading all together. It's subjective at best. Too much emphasis is placed on some arbitrary number and not enough on the reviewers recounting of his/her personal experience.

It's quite pathetic to see people moaning about the score.

It got a 9.5, an excellent score.

IGN stated the minor problems that the game had.

I was not that impressed with the beta, i only had fun creating, i didnt enjoy the user created levels or the MM levels(but there was only four) i was thinking of cancelling my pre-order but after seeing the video review and seeing the other MM levels im going to keep my pre-order.

This is not a game i will spend weeks playing, it something i will play every now and then with friends creating stuff, this is just my opinion, LBP is an amazing game and i hope it does amazingly sales wise, im just not to creative although i wish i was or i would have liked to play this when i was 13 or something as i was more creative back then and could spend allot more time with the game.

Everyone saying it deserves a ten because they played the beta are wrong, you played with around 25% of the final games content, you couldnt play 2 hours of heavenly sword and then be able to review the game properly.

Yes the beta give us a very good idea of what the full game will be like but not enough for us to review the game, wait untill you have played the full in game in depth before giving your review scores.

IGN are in a place to give LBP a final review score we are not.

So far its had some very good reviews 9 from eurogamer/9.5 from IGN and a 10 from OPM(which means nothing IMO official magazines always give exclusive games very high scores).

I do not understand why people moan when a game gets an 8.0(which means a good game) and to see people moaning about a 9.5 is just crazy.

People should really stop complaining about various scores.

Every game has different taste for gamers, if you like particular one, reviews should be the last opinion to look forward to.
