LBP Help!!!

I bought little big planet about 2 weeks ago and recently i downloaded some free costumes from psn, installed it and went into the game. When i checked my costums i had no new costumes. I'm wonderng if am i doing somthing wrong or is it a problem with the downloads. I want to get the Metal gear solid DLC but i'm worried it wont work and that i'm going to waste money!

If you mean the in game store nothing pops up when i go in there,and the content i have alrady downloaded is free not bought.
