I think I can now officially say that this game definitely warrants the purchase of a PS3 more than any other game.

Yea, its nice to see that MM did the right thing and all those levels people spent hours making can be transfer to LBP2! Outside that, i like LBP1(just got it a few weeks ago) and its a fun game with plenty of flaws that a 2nd can fix. Still like Mario more, but you can';t make new levels in Mario.

Man, its like when they were planning the sequel, they were listing out ideas. Instead of picking from that list on a few enhancements, it was like: ah the heck with it, lets go out and do everything. LB2 is going to be a monster and I'd imagine that its going to be such a monster that LBP3 is going to be a PS4 launch title lol

LBP is definitely a money-making machine and I imagine to hit Halo proportions next gen.

I will get this. However, this could've been given to us via dlc.

LBP2 will be amazing. I won't even have to look at reviews to know I'll love the game to bits.

I think SOME people are underestimating this a little bit. I am without a doubt buying this game, and am actually blown away by what they have done thus far. I didn't even really think of this kind of stuff, but somehow all of these little things came together to make an amazing difference. Anyone who has played enough of LBP knows how much a small thing can make a huge difference.

MusashiSensi

Healey on why this wasn't DLC - "We've added a lot with LittleBigPlanet 2, much more than you would normally get with the sequel. Obviously, we could have split that up into areas and dribbled that out as DLC. What we have found from experience is that when you have got a bunch of tools and features and you're working on them in unison together, you start to realise how they work and link together and influence each other, which is a lot harder to do when you are working with these items separately.

We also liked the idea of having the time to create a new story, which combines all these new experiences and shows them off to the users. The game is also fully backwards compatible, so we feel that we will not split the community in anyway.

It's also a lot easier to explain to my mum when I have a disc to show her. I like making my mum proud."

If they gave us everything in DLC packs, it's likely that the total cost of the packs would be more than a full price game anyway.

Judging from the amount of new features and content they're adding, yes.

Will be best game of the generation when it releases, and probably for a while after as the level makers will constantly improve.

This will be great. I can understand MM reluctantly to make a new game however the DLC's haven't gave the game enough life.. for me anyway (good but short). Hopefully the trophies will be harder too!

Hey, he's just trying to show you that, with all the innovation and mass construction on various tools, graphics, devices, etc, it COULD NOT have been given via DLC.

But wait, the answer is yeah it COULD HAVE. Its just that Musashi may have "sounded" like he felt it should have been DLC and someone took a small offense to it and needed to point something out.

I was kinda pissed when I heard about the sequel in general, because it ruined the purpose of the game, but this is just awesome. Theyre basically getting people to create Playstation Minis for free, and hundreds of thousands of them.

What difference would it make? If they released all this via DLC you would end up paying 60 bucks anyway. When I first head there was going to be a sequel I thought it was going to be a 60 dollar map pack(take that Activision lol) but they are turning it into a complete game creating device with a bunch of new mechanics and capabilities. That is a worthy sequel. I'm looking forward to seeing just what can be made; if they really did make it easier we might see some better levels because people wont have to commit weeks to a high level creation. Also I would hope people would be more willing to share, their work. You make something solid, let other people use it so they can make something solid.

Creating your own mech in-game = Win. I hate to say this, but this game is going to be on my must-buy list right next to The Last Guardian.
