it seems this may be true as on game.co.uk they have changed the release date from 24th oct to a general oct date

so damn 4 more weeks to wait

It wouldn't be unprecedented, Kakuto Chojin for the Xbox was recalled after its release because it contained people reading from the Q'ran in the background of a song:

Ah, I hope it's all false or they can do something about it. They should just release a patch right now that removes that song from the game, that way anyone wanting to go online with it (any sane LBP buyer) will have no other choice. That way they get to keep the release date and avoid the massive amount of forum goers that will be complaining in weeks to come.

I just checked the EB AU website and the release date is still schedueled for the 23rd.

We EU gamers are so lucky.

I was only providing the Kakuto Chojin thing as an example. Who knows what religious group it supposedly offends. Maybe it's getting Zoroastrians really up in arms or something

Sony just issued a statement on the matter:

During the review process prior to the release of LittleBigPlanet, it has been brought to our attention that one of the background music tracks licensed from a record label for use in the game contains two expressions that can be found in the Qur'an. We have taken immediate action to rectify this and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.

The European delay of LittleBigPlanet we mentioned earlier has blossomed into a worldwide recall of the game due to passages from the Islamic holy text Qur'an being included in the background music in one of the levels.
