:)From what i remember, ever since i owned super-nes, ps1 and ps2 i've been owning every live series for my bball pleasure, no other titles i have owned like 2k series, and others/etc. Earlier versions of live in ps2 were great and then the later versions got dissapointing. ever since owning a ps3 few months back didn't buy any bball game yet coz 09 version is already coming so what's the point of me buying live 08. now i'm having a hard time which version should i choose, the reason i go for live is my comfort in gameplay and i hope it's gonna be good old days again like earlier versions in ps2., but ever since i saw gameplay videos of 2k9 i was like WHOA!, never seen an authentic environment like the crowds and the player's authentic movements/manerisms/habits and gameplay, everything is so lively and made me think am i watching a bball game or bball video game?, coz it looks so freakin' realistic! ur opinions please, coz now it's gameplay(live 09) VS graphics/authenticity(2k9).:)
Just get graphics and (semi) relistic gameplay with NBA 09: The Inside, made by Sony, for Sony.SethSOMT
didnt read the TC's wall of text, but i'd ignore this guy's advice. NBA 09 is a bad joke with a good story mode... but at the end of the day the gameplay is dated 10 years.
NBA 2K9 is the only option for BBall diehards, just like NHL 09 for hockey, FIFA for soccer and madden for,, nvm they bought out the competition haha
I am getting 2k9. I have enjoyed the 2k series more than the live series ever since and this year is no expection. The demo of 2k9 just murders live 09 and I am gonna say 2k9 can be the best b-ball game to date.
NBA 2k series is light years ahead of EA's NBA Live series in almost every possible way. I'm no fan boy i just play whatever is the best and NBA 2K has always been the best since it's inception in 1999 on the dreamcast. In fact, in sports games in general, basketball is the only sport where 1 game (2k) is far far superior than it's next closest competitor.
Live has sucked since the 2k series was created in Dreamcast. After playing both demos...or should I add all 3 with NBA 09, it conformed for me the same thing from every year...2K is the only playable series. My first play on Live 09 after the opponesnt scored on his first possesion was a pass from behind the half court line that advanced the ball past the half court. It was called a back court violation. So yeah, before I ever even passed half court in NBA Live 09 i got called for back court violation. MLet me add I pressed Square after passing to Lamar Odom at the top of the key. He took 2 steps, without dribbling, and dunked on every body like he was MJ. This game absolutely sucks. NBA 2k9 is better in graphics, gameplay, and everything else.
i played both nba live and 2k9 live is the same game as last years with a 09 at the end lol dont get me wrong i like nba live 06 but thats it 2k9 is way better then live 09 better grpaghics better everything but if you ask me the better basketball game this year is NBA Insider 09 i was very impressed with the game the grpaghics are amazing an or better thne 2k9 and live o9 and the gameplay is very realistic so the winner this year is nba insider 09 and in second place 2k9 buy ether one you should be happy with ether but thats just my opion illl probly insider first then 2k later maybe
after playing both for the past two years I say neither cause its the same old same old with both....lets face it with the PS3 or the other system you can do so much and neither franchise has......think about it. Sure its cool that in 2K the crowd gets into it or in live that the graphics are hot...but what about the music, the commentation, and the biggest thing situation awarness. Will there ever be a game where you feel the difference between an exhibition, regular season, and post season game? You know where the announcer makes you feel like game 7 of a semi final round is being played with pasion. If you know what I mean sound of....if you just want to play basket ball then go back to 2k on the PS2 or NBA live 05.

EA has gotten lazy, because they know they have the license, and we help them along with their laziness by giving in and buying their lackluster of a product ..

personally i didn't like the crib feature at all. but what i do really like about the 2k series is that you can play defense. you aren't going to have a 100 - 125 scores on games. its more realistic. i also really love the association mode in the 2k series. i haven't owned a nba live game since live 01 though lol. but, i have played them with friends. i do like using the right stick for crossovers but not enough to switch. i love the shot stick and combo like crossovers. plus the post game in 2k series is the manure. sorry for ranting. lol
im leaning towards 2k9 the animations are much more better and realistic. the collision detection is spot on and heck its 2k the gameplay is always great
