Why do people still care about ratings? What do they mean to you? Is it because of bragging rights? Just enjoy the game for what it is.
Well, most of the time, I agree with reviewers, but review scores are, in the end, just opinions.
GTA IV got rave reviews. I gave it a shot and didn't like it one bit at all. I found it tediously slow and repetitive. Bionic Commando got bashed like crazy, but I went on to try it anyways and had a fun blast. And in the end, as reviews go, platforming Mario will always come up to top everything else, but I'm pretty sure there are people who prefer going online to play capture the flag with 30+ other people than be all by themselves trying to do tricky jumps and double jumps.
I'm pretty sure Uncharted 2 is a great game, and I'm getting it. But the reviews just mean players who play that kind of game think the creators did a great job, and they love it. Doesn't mean it's better than this or that game that are in different genres.
has the same person at each company reviewed each game?? doubt it. Scores don't mean crap, hell i love some 5/10 games better than 8's or 9's..

Actualy i think each company has a reviewer for a genre. So the score aint compared to all other games but only games of the same genre realy.
I think.
And this is one of those games that i definatly agree with its scroes judging from the MP demo :D
I'm sure Uncharted 2 is going to be an awesome game, perhaps the most awesome of all time, and I'm buying it for sure. But having said that, review scores don't really mean anything to me. I've bought some games based on extremely high review scores and thought they were basically crap. Most of the games I really love get scores in the 8's, with an occasional 9. I don't trust reviewers at all, they've got some pretty heavy biases and they have to worry about angering the fans and losing advertising revenue from publishers.
It can score as high as it wants. Remember that Killzone 2 outscored but was outsold by Halo Wars and took neary 4-5 months to sell a million units in NA.
Also, I was planning to buy Uncharted 2 when Uncharted 1 first came out and I had beat it. Even though there was no announcement at the time, I had a feeling they would make a sequel.

Sells doesn't equal a good game. Halo Wars and ODST prove this. You could slap a Halo sticker on a turd and it would sell millions.
