I'm looking for a lengthy PS3 game that will last me a while, but I'm not really into to RPGs (so not sure about Oblivion or Fallout unless you highly recommend one). I have Burnout Paradise, Killzone 2, and DBZ: Burst Limit. Want to get something new, but not something like Uncharted or Heavenly Sword which end in 6-8 hours.

Recommendations?

Uncharteds good if you want to complete EVERYTHING - Get all the tresures and trophys. MGS 4 - Long if you want every single emblem and great repaly value with both games.

There are some RPGs that have demos that you could try out.

  • GTA4-If you can get into it
  • Fallout 3
  • Oblivion game of the year edition
  • Disgea 3
  • Uncharted-It has Trophies, and treasures to find, new difficulties to try
  • Valkryria Chronicles
  • Virtua Fighter 5

Fallout 3 - I hate RPGs... well, not hate, but dislike playing. I can see why people like them, but none of them really made me want to play other RPGs. Oblivion is the most un fun game I have ever played, and haven't played it since the first week I bought it for £30. Fallout 3, on the other hand, has made me want to try other RPGs. Its truly a fantastic game, and lasts forever - seriously. You can put hundreds of hours into on account, and that's possibly without getting platinum. And that's just one account, and on that one account, you have a karma system (bad, good, neutral) and each one affects gameplay and going down one route offers alternate ways to complete missions. There's also the stats system, which makes for stealth, melee, big guns or pistol, or loads of others, including hybrids and whatnot, and all rounders. That means, potentially, you could have: Melee -Good Melee -Bad Melee -Neutral Long Range - Good Long Range - Bad Long Range - Neutral Mid Range -Good Mid Range -Bad Mid Range -Neutral Stealthy -Good Stealthy -Bad Stealthy -Neutral. That's 12 possibilites, without hybrids or the other types, and all rounders. Ofcourse, you won't play that much, but let's just say 6 alltogether. On one of those, you can spend 100 hours say, unlocking things, discovering new places and completing the game. After that, the other 5 you'll spend 25 hours on each, playing through story and unlocking new stuff. Add about 25 hours of playing around and just having fun, killing off all main characters or just discovering new places, and you got yourself a long, long playtime. You might not spend that much on it, but I know theres hundreds, thousands of people out there who have. My other taste in games, which I either absolutely love, or absolutely addicted to - SOCOM: Confrontation - if you like the game, then endless hours of playtime. Modern Warfare - Ditto. Resident Evil 5 - A lot less, but I've put in about 48 hours so far, and got platinum nearly and completed game on Prof.. LittleBigPlanet. - More than Fallout 3, possibly, but it's a very different game and not all will like it. If your creative, it's a must.

Grand Theft Auto IV runs about 30 hrs on avg (Can definitely be beaten under that time. ) It has two endings and you can do multiple new mini-missions based on whether or not you chose to kill certain people in the game. There's also Little Big Planet. There's endless replayability there since you can download levels made by other gamers.

Resident freaking Evil 5 Even if it didn't have so much replay value it'd be worth it.

Resident evil 5,it gave me more than 100 hours of gameplay .the multiplayer is great and it has a really high replay value.DBZ:Burst Limit lasts for like about 10 sec, it's really short.

Well I DO highly recommend Oblvion, it is a great game that will give you tons of playing time. I have logged almost 200 hours exact, and I loved every bit of it. It was WELL worth the $60 I payed for it, but you will only have to pay around half even now. For long lasting good game Oblivion is a must, for anyone.

Im not tht big of a fan of RPGs, so i dont reccomend F3, i like Oblivion more tho. Id say GTA IV, Killzone 2, Bioshock, or Resistance 2. Ratchet and Clank is good too.

Saint's Row 2

Skate. 2

Orange Box

Call of Duty 4

These are the games I've gotten the most of my money out of from sheer play time.

Among RPGs: - Oblivion - Disgaea 3 These 2 titles will offer 100+ hours of single-player experience. Disgaea 3 can easily surpass 300+ hours. Among more action oriented titles: - Grand Theft Auto IV (can take 40+ hours to complete everything) - Orange Box (though I strongly reccommend the PC version). 5 games in 1, TF2 being a lengthy game (multiplayer only, possibly infinite replay value due to mods and the community, especially on PC)

Battlefield: Bad Company, and motorstorm if you play it online. Dark Sector is fairly short (8-10 hours), but it's only $10 new and you might end up replaying it, so I would recommend it too.

Fallout 3

If you like shooters and rpgs this game is incredibe, there is so much to do and explore, if you only do the main missions the game is quite short but if you do the side missions and explore this game will last forever

I cant wait to play it through again and be as evil as possible

Traditional shooters dont cut it in terms of length, unless you play them multiple time

Uncharted and Bioshock have good replay value as well

GTA 4 - been playing for 14 hours and i'm not even 30% through, although not all that time has been spent on missions.

mgs4 if you count the cutscenes is a decent length but just gameplay its like 7-8 hours though on the 1st playthrough

Please use the game reccomendation sticky for these kinds of questions. Thanks:) Oh and btw,I logged about 200 hours into oblivion, between the main game and shivering isles while waiting for GTA4 to release,so that does last.
