Maybe I should convert to Christianity so I can play with you online.

Just thought of something.....as the TC is looking for non-swearing compatriots for online, its probable that hes looking for people to join a squad and kill other people deathmatch style....most psn games are violence-based, yes? I suppose most pick and choose thier battles, but from what I remember from church days, the big 10 were absolute......
I just find that ironic....
Like Sheila Broflovski reminds us:
"Remember what the MPAA says: Senseless, horrific violence is okay, as long as nobody uses any dirty language!!""
Way to take a step backwards TC.
You wish to create seperation online as well? Why does it matter what "religion" the player is?
You people always talk about everyone else. When in reality, you're the problem.
I could care less what race, religion or where you come from. In real life, or online. But especially online when all we see is our avatars and hear eachother's voices. Do "christians" sound a certain way? Because as far as I'm concerned, everybody swears and curses. The "holier than thou" act just displays what kind of hypocrite you are. Are you "good" and "don't swear" by association with religion?
I don't like those unintelligent brats either. But don't bring your "innocent christian" BS into it. You're no better than they are.
I'm Christian and I usually don't swear. Well I try not too, sometimes you're pissed and you can't help it. It won't kill me, but I don't like it.
But since french is my main language (I'm bilingual but you get the point), you won't understand what I'd say anyway. Although when I'm pissed I swear in english more often...

Those things don't apply to them. Only "other people" are bad and do these things.
When they "slaughter", virtually or reality, it's under "god's orders". So it's ok.
I'm an atheist who lives by Cristian principals does that count? mattsnibbs

I can see not swearing at someone in a game. Like how they throw racial slurs at eachother. Because there really is no point. I don't do that myself.
But what does it have to do with what religion you are? People are going to swear regardless.
I follow the teachings of christ "BUT"I don't exclude ''ANYONE" who shows me respect. Your thread tittle should be...looking for Gamers who don't swear...you'll get a better response. If you really know about jesus, you would know that he didn't exclude anybody...even though he had to correct people at times, he never excluded.
I'm a Christian that doesn't swear. With that said: Christians are not known for following their doctrine too often. $5 Tells me that Christians helped start so many of these bad trends we see nowadays. lolSymphonycometh
How right you are. I consider myself a christian, although I don't really live like one. I don't speak like one either. I guess you could call me a hypocrite. Oh well...

Agreed....Christians are the only people to have principles
You're apart of the problem.
Good people, have principles. Not your artificial deniability via religious title.
Good people don't need a book, or an invisible man in the sky, or a magic Jewish carpenter to define that they "are".

Ironically, Marc, you said just before that Jesus didn't exclude, but then you just excluded.
It should be widely known that most all religions promote togetherness and kindness.
I'm Catholic if that counts. Up for some GTA4 online? I get angry often though, so I hope you don't have any young ones listening. Resistance 2 is fine too, although I have a tendency of screaming out swears randomly and sending erotic pictures to people I play with.hazelnutman
hey! you haven't sent me any erotic pictures yet:( or do those anime pics you put here on GS count?:P

Unfortunately, most of these religions don't do that. It's all about who benefits off the backs of the ignorant. It's "my god vs your god". Only "I'm right by default" because "I have a book". Or another "side" has something else, which makes them better than you. Then you have these people killing eachother because "god wanted it this way" or "god's on our side". These religions are so obsessed with death and the end of the world. Where exactly do you see any "true kindness" that isn't attached to a selfish agenda like "a ticket to heaven"???
Like I've stated in my other post. Actual "good people" don't need an excuse.

Religions do ask people to be kind to others. It's the "followers" that aren't doing it. God doesn't tell people to start wars (other than the old testament :P). People tell other people that God told them too so that they can get a response and support.
Anyways, to not steer off topic. I found that the communities on Killzone 2 were surpisingly respectful. If you just simply mute those who cuss, then you will find your experience much more desirable.

That's because religions are man made and meant for control. You're right, "god" doesn't tell them anything, "god" never has.
I don't think it's off topic though. The TC brought his religion into it, it's fair game. It is involved with the subject after all.

Religions being man made is a matter of an opinion. Obviously not every religion is true, but that doesn't void every single other one. Religion isn't about proof. It's about faith.

Bah, "faith". Where's the faith in humanity?
Also, it is very much about "proof". Ask those who are benefitting from those blind by "faith". People say "faith" as the easy dismissal to anything that logically challenges it's very purpose of existing. When they themselves, don't have an answer and don't want to believe that maybe it's just an exploit. Humans are cowards by nature and want to feel "safe". Religion is something people hide behind.
I know for sure, if I wanted power, money and control. Guess what? "I'm a messenger from god!". See how easy that was? Don't believe me? Then that means you lack faith.

I do agree with much of what you said, especially religions being exploited. However, as I stated before, if you have read the Bible or Koran before, then you will understand that many Christians and Muslims aren't representing their beliefs very well. However, that doesn't justify a low blow to the religion itself. I'll be the first to admit that people are taking advantage to make a quick buck, but nothing in the scripture talks about that. As a matter of fact, it talks about the opposite. I can't really take someone seriously who accuses religion when they don't know what they are about or why people believe.
What does religion have to do with gaming anyway???The guy who started this thread should be modded and all those who replied that they are chrisrian just shows that they have minds of five year olds and believe in santa clause.hahahahahahaha........conistant
If that were true it would be that way for every religion. Think before you post.

Because they want to understand what they cannot explain. Such as life itself (and death). They want to be apart of a social structure and "belong" somewhere. People believe because if they do, they'll be "saved" and free from "bad things" in life. They want to have a sense of self purpose and draw strength from their "faith" to get through the tough times in life. People want to believe they have a sense of human history. But then again, they rely on "faith" and not "proof". So it's "their version" of human history.
Is there anything else I should post as to why people "believe"?

Long story, but let's just say I know there's a spirit world. That none of this crap actually matters when you go there.
I'm not an athiest that believes we expire into nothing, if that's what you're hinting.
I just believe human religions are man made and meant for control. Because that's all it really is. Control. They create icons to believe in, to push their will and message of control further. They're a product of a primitive, immature society.
When society and humanity advances to a higher form of society and intelligence, religions will fade out and be forgotten. Much like it was 30,000 years ago or something. There's no doubt that people believed mountains were gods and all of those things. Most of those before even Christianity, Muslim ect, don't even exist today. The same will happen with the religions now.

Actually, Satan worshipers are still technically Christians. Because the christian religion created "satan". But about the eternal damnation and torture stuff, from all the things that was stated and said about what "god" was going to do to you. What's the real purpose of "satan" anyways when "god" himself seems to be worse ten folds than "satan" could ever be. I mean, you look up to "god", he "smites" you down. Swats you like a fly, burns you with fire and brimstone, turns you into salt and so on and so forth. The way the bible discribes "god", he sounds like a jealous psychopath "human" with god like powers. You look down, "satan" is in a fire pit torturing people for eternity. He's the answer for the "sinners" who don't follow "the rules" that "god's" going to kill you about anyways. So what's really the point? Right? Especially if the "rules" are unrealistic and completely deny human nature itself. Because the "ultimate creator of the universe" actually cares whether some guy named Charlie is gay or not. Or some girl had sex before she was married.
Then there are sub religions where these "rules" are changed on a daily basis. Yet, people don't seem to actually notice or question it.

Yet, people don't seem to actually notice or question it.
have you even read the bible? or know anything about the word forgiveness?
