I am looking to put a bigger hard drive in my ps3 and wanted to know if this one would work

No....

The hard drive has to be 2.5" Sata with at least 5400 RPM. 7200 works too but costs a little more and raises the core temperature by like 1 or 2 degrees. If you want something big get the 2.5" 320 GB Western Digital Scorpio~

Yes, that is the exact same one I have but I only paid $130 after tax for it (Canada). Just make sure the hard drive is 2.5" SATA and you should be fine. Also buy an external inclosure for your current PS3's hard drive so you can use it to back up files and what not.

i filled my 40gb in the first week of getting my ps3....so yeah i also need more space...but i cant find anything bigger than 320gb...i actually would want 500gb or 1tg.....i plan on moving all videos from my PC and coying all the music as well....and i love d/ling stuff at 1080p (each is freakin huge...even trailers)

Content on the PSN Store, and have you noticed the trend of installing games on the hard drive? Better safe than sorry. I have a 200GB PS3, but in the near future I plan on upgrading it.

You can use any 2.5 inch SATA harddrive, otherwise known as laptop or notebook drives. Sony allows you to use any 2.5 inch drive. Sony doesn't endorse any.
