Whenever I use my PS3 (just recently this started to become an issue...and I've had my PS3 for a few months now), it starts to make this click noise that doesn't go away, although sometimes it's fairly low and sometimes it's so loud it makes it a pain to try and watch a movie.

Now, I think it might be the fan, I'm not sure. Maybe something has dislodged itself and is causing the fan to hit something and therefore make a noise? The noise sometimes improves depending if I move the PS3's position, such as standing it up, or putting out more in the open.

I'm not sure what to make of it but the noise is driving me nuts and making it impossible to enjoy a movie. Has anybody else had this problem? What should I do?

Its most likely the fan, it must be hitting something. It could also be the HDD, they make a clicking sound when they are about to die, but I doubt it since you said the sound decreases or stops when you reposition it. If I was you, I would call Sony ASAP, tell them whats going on, they will be able to help you out.
