Mark Wahlberg seems like a terrible, terrible casting choice.

I'm not sure why Uncharted really needs a movie when the game is already an interactive movie.

For crying out glavin, nothing about this sounds remotely good. A decent game-to-film transition for Uncharted should be one of the easiest to do but of course, Hollywood will screw it up.

I would have to agree with G4. Nathan Fillion is the person I think of for Nathan Drake. He just already has a very similar way of delivering his lines as the voice actor for Uncharted. I like Mark Wahlberg in most of his stuff, and he can be funny. He just isn't the type of funny that Nathan Drake is. Also, who the hell would Joe Pesci be playing? I can see DeNiro as Sully, but aside from that, no. Just no.

Well, it is confirmed. No good movies will come out of the gaming industry. I repeat: No good movies will come out of the gaming industry. Anybody who's seen Max Payne should know that Marky Mark isn't a good action hero. Anybody who's seen The Other Guys would know that he's barely funny even when making a complete ass of himself. There's no freaking way he can pull off a decent Nathan Drake. And their plot ideas are ridiculous. This movie will fail so hard the Xbots will be laughing at the entire franchise for years to come. :P

Also says that said director wants to make the film about a "family" that are antiquities experts....scuse me, i just threw up in my mouth a lil. lets hope that last vision doesnt come to fruition.

It hurts me that they are going to dishonor a great game like this. How hard is it to strictly follow the game storyline?

I bet games would be slightly more respected in general if they weren't represented by such horrible movies to the people who haven't played the games.

I agree. You can tell someone about a beautfiul mountain scenery you once saw, but if you paint it out of dog sh** they probably won't appreciate it quite like you do.

Yup, I was telling my sister about Heavy Rain and such, she was intrigued and found it a really cool plot, she asked if the movie was out yet, I told her it was a game and she basically scoffed : /

I guess I am in the minority but I think Mark Wahlberg makes great movies and is a good actor. In his latest movie "The Fighter", he is getting oscar buzz and it has a 8.3 rating out of 10 on IMDB. Then he has Basketball Diaries, Fear, Boogie Nights, The Italian Job, Three Kings, The Departed, Four Brothers, We Own the Night, etc.

What actor is a better fit? An oscar nominated actor, Nathan Fillon who is known for Halo (voice) and Desperate Housewives or Nolan North (like 100 video games voices).

You guys realize that Robert De Niro hasn't made a good movie in 10 years? Seems as though the folks behind this movie have little faith that it can sell itself without star power.

ok...if done right, UC movie with Marky Mark could be good. but after reading this article, i see hollywood ruining yet another great game/movie tie in just to make it appeal to every who doesnt know who Nathan Drake is. Note to hollywood...some things are good and dont need to be changed/ruined. Besides, after watching castle last night, i still want Nathan Fillion.

Marky Mark has had some decent roles, and has done a good job. However, his acting ability actually fit those roles. As long as he plays a serious/emotionless meathead he does pretty good. But trying to be sly/witty/funny.... no, I just don't see him pulling it off.

How can Mark Wahlberg be such a "emotionless meathead" and he is getting rave reviews and oscar consideration for his latest movie in "The Fighter"? Wahlberg has a long list of great movies that he played in. He has an impressive resume. People are acting like Vin Diesel was casted. And Robert DeNiro is getting bashed now in this thread?! The man who played in Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, Heat, Casino and Meet the Parents.

Where is the long list of better fitting actors than Mark Wahlberg and Robert De Niro? People complaining but not naming better fitting actors. Somebody said "Chris Pine" from Star Trek movie on movie board and I nearly spat out my cereal.
