The new PSP slim. Today I went to the sony store, and I got the people to take out the demo of the silver PSP slim with sparkles on it, and I notices barely any physical difference, it still felt the same as my phat PSP, and it didn't feel all that "slim". What do you guys think about the slims physical change?

Physically I dont think its that different or worth it to but. But faster game loading, being able to play it on your TV, and better colors help more.

Of course there wasnt a big diff because it is a redisgn not a new console! But it is way lighter and can be hooked up to a tv. It also has more. I dont really care and wont get one cuz i already have one. Sony made it so ppl with psps would buy it. anyways my psp is special if you know what i mean.

You are joking right? Me and my friends got a shock when we held the new PSP Slim. The weight difference is very obvious.

The slim difference isn't alot though.

Physically, the difference is huge. The huge drop in weight is instantly noticeable. It seems lighter with the battery and a game in, than a big psp feels with neither. Its not much thinner in the middle, but it doesnt have the huge bulges on the sides that the old psp does, so it feels much thinner when im holding it.

Well I dont really care about the difference... The ONLY way I would get one is if something happened to my current one, or I would have never owned one before... because I like the psp the way it is, and I didnt really see a need for a remake

I agree.. The slim doesnt seem very different at all.. Infact I prefer the phat over my buds slim because it made my hands hurt while playin pursuit force :)

But with all small system re-designs, naturally the people in huge support of the slim are the same ones that own one.. so..

Infact I almost bought one myself but decided against it after I held it and read the specs.. Seems like video out, a few seconds off the load time and a different color arent worth the hype/ price dif from the regular phat. Ive even heard the battery isnt as long lasting.. I thought that was supposed to be a new feature of the slim? Longer battery life? :(

Ill keep my phatty..

I agree, my fatty old PSP would do. But if anything would happen I would certainly buy the new one.

The faster loading really would help, and longer battery even more, so it isn't that baaad. But still, it isn't really a have-to-get new PSP.

The only thing I want in a redesigned PSP is internal memory about 4 or 8 gigs. Without that no new PSP for me anytime soon.

i heard they removed the chassis that protects the old psp so thats why its lighter, and that if u put in the old battery you get about 2 hours more but im thinking it would only be 1 hour really, if you want the tv out for games you need the component cables but if u have a big collection of umd movies and for some reason dont have a dvd player the composite cables will let you run the movies, i like the idea of more ram but its really just for the cache, i doubt any devloper is going to try and use the extra ram since so many people already have the old psp, my old one died so i picked up a slim, the only thing i can say is that i like the d-pad more, the extra hour of battery life doesnt seem noticable to me but i do use my psp alot so that may be why

Who cares about it i think its dumb that sony even makes all there consoles slim its like giving them a second chance cuz they didn't try the first time. Its like a tiny excuse that will make people spend another $200.

i sold my old psp for 110 bucks to get the new PSP that way i dont have to spend alot of money to get the new one. once i get Silent Hill Origins and God of War for PSP it will be awesome to connect it to the tv to play. for me it being lighter is a big difference, with the old PSP everytime i had it in my pocket and walked it would make my pants start to fall lol

I agree. I held my friend's slim psp and it just felt cheaper and looked cheaper too (the slim daxter pack version). and the few new features it held didn't sway me to get a newer version. My friend also felt the older version was better after using mine for a while.

you can only make them special with a fat psp though T_T

Anyway my thoughts on the slim is that it does feel a lot lighter than the fat, almost a hollow psp feeling. I didn't like the ice silver color compared to the old black. The slim does have a better analog stick which doesn't feel like your scraping the psp's surface. Also, the D-pad isn't as shaky, its more in tact. Its also built a bit weaker since the UMD cage pops off when the slim falls whereas the fats UMD cage stays locked in. Oh and good news about the slim is that you can visit bigger websites like gamespot.

He meant what he said.Sony wanted to give psp owners a reason to open their wallets again andbuy a new one and hopefully lure ppl who wasnt interested in the psp before to get one. btw my old psp is "special" too and I know how to make the slim psp special as well when I decide to get one. Just wish you can play its games on the TV in true full screen.
