I am eagerly awaiting FF13, and was just thinking back on some of the great rpg's and the things that make them so good, like exploring vast worlds, memorable characters, etc. I would like to know what rpg / moment is most memorable to you.

I'll stay away from the typical FF7 shout out and go with something a little earlier in my childhood.
The Secret of Evermore was an awesome game back in the day. What I remember the most was the alchemy and the four differnt areas that were nothing alike. My favorite thing about it was probably your dog that changed depending on the area you were in. I wish I could replay it.

Maybe my young encounters with the world of Pokemon. I remember my first video game system, the Nintendo Gameboy Advance. I got Monsters INC. (Witch I got stuck at Level 3) and Pokemon Blue. I still play Pokemon Blue nowadays, ocassionally.
