Mercenaries 2 Gamespot Review =(

Hey nobody should even think about watching or reading the gamespot review about Mercs 2. That was the most unaccurate review I have ever seen. Usually I dont read or watch reviews but I bought the game when it came out and I wondered what they said about it and it was horriable. I still can't belive that they gave it only a 5.0 outof 10. Just dont even watch or read the review instead just buy the game.

It may not be as bad as Gamespot says, but it's a mediocre game at best. It's kind of ironic how you can just discredit gamespots review by implying that "it's just one inaccurate review" when you expect to change people's minds with just your point of view. I love this site, but the reviews have kind of historically been inaccurate. I've heard Mercs 2 is a mediocre game, but a 5 seems harsh compared to well... all the other sites reviewing it. But they gave Uncharted and 8, which I can't beleive. I reviewed that game, pretty intesley, and I gave it a 9. Gamespot really nitpicked it, and I still don't think it properly justified an 8.

Its kinda a win win thing. Because I kinda enjoy the game. Yet I hate EA, And EA getting slammed is a good thing I feel also. So? EA has to prove alot more to me before I would stick up for them. Although I feel the score was way off.

And buying out companies that dont want to be bought "nore need to," is not proving to me much.

Theirs a reason they dont want to be bought. Just like theirs a reason Yahoo does not want to be bought.

I really don't understand how people can criticize reviews. You guys talk like the 5.0 score from Gamespot is the result of a universal concensus. Hell, it's not even the general concensus of the whole Gamespot staff. The ONE Gamespot reviewer of Mercs 2 gave HIS opinion on the game and HE thought the game was worth 5 points on a scale of 10. That's it! There's nothing more to it. What do you think happened? The guy thought it was worth a 10 but gave it a 5 on purpose? To piss people off?

The game (or any other game) is not good, nor is it bad. A game is only a game and everybody has their opinion about it. And nobody's opinion is a universal standard, whether the person who gives it is paid to give it or not.

Okay, first off, why are you discussing the 360 iteration on the PS3 forum? I've played the game on both and based on the community and bugginess I'm noticing the game tends to run much smoother on the PS3. There are a couple bugs here and there, but not nearly as many as the 360. Also, no one is ever inviting me to their game over and over on the PS3 like they have been on the 360 so I prefer playing that one as well. I also liked the install to reduce load times, they seemed quite long in the 360 version and even though I had to wait for the install in the PS3 version, I'd rather wait 5-7 minutes upfront than in-game.

The game is quite a bit shorter than I planned and I could have asked for a better storyline, but overall the game is just damn fun! Isn't that what video games are still about? Just have fun. Having said that, the game is just about average to me: 7.0 (until my official review goes up).

But so many bugged up EA games on the PS3 get a 8. Now a bugged one for 60, thats not bad on PS3 gets a 5? So you have to wounder. They need two scores again, is what they need.

Or they need to actually play both versions, and I question if they do.

lol......dude......this no lie...but he is a little kid.

Some of these comments leave me wondering if a lot of you have you have even played the game. It's a pretty accurate review IMO, though I gave it a 6.5. I'm upset that I wasted my money on it to be honest. I can't believe how many people are defending this game. It's good for a rental and that's about it. It has no story, the gameplay is garbage, the AI is horrendous, the physics are laughable, and the graphics are average. Overall, it just plain boring.caseystryker

lol dude i am on your side. it is pretty dissapointing, i had high expectations for this game and none of them were met. it sucks that just to be more accurate in your aiming you HAVE to crouch and the view sucks. the guns really arent that great either. i have and m4 in my hands and aim it at an enemy at medium distance, i always aim for the head but the bullets go anywhere but the head. overall i would give it like a six. this actually makes kane and lynch look good lol.

i use gamespot as my review source aswell, when i seen ign giving this game a 7.9 and other sites giving it a 8, i knew they wur wrong

Back on Topic: I thought the game showed promise, I loved the first. Doesn't look like I'll be picking this up for at least a year. Second hand. Or I may just buy the PS2 version. We'll see.
