maybe it is, maybe it's not... not much important, as long as it doesn't look bad... for me, i only appreciate the graphics upon starting the game... afterwards, i get used to it, i get more focused in the story or the action...taplok

i think you guys are taking me out of context, but first of all, the game is finished and is in mass production to be sent out later this month, so what we're seeing IS the final build. And second, yes the particle effects are incredible, but there are times in Metal Gear Solid running in 1080 resolution (and by that I mean anytime there isn't a character with a face or defying the laws of physics) where I can barely tell I'm playing a game. I mean, yeah, I'm really just being nitpicky, but the game has been advertised by so many journalists as having the best graphics on a console system and even the best graphics ever, which is just a false statement.IMAHAPYHIPPO

im honestly not really an mgs fan.. i only played the 4th one because it got such good reviews. By attacking my ignorance, though, you've only exploited your own, thanks.

Has anyone else realized this. After playing the demo its pretty obvious, metal gear just looks better. Now by no means is killzone a bad looking game, its pretty damn good looking, but for all this hype for how awesome the graphics are, the demo was a pretty big letdown. Anyone agree? Disagree?IMAHAPYHIPPO

Well, I think there's a distinct difference between hype and the majority of gaming journalists giving it a perfect 10. If you look at that list, ignoring Tony Hawk 3 on Gamespot, that is an elite list of games. And you're original post insinuated I was biased towards Metal Gear Solid because I have some kind of blind inhibition that it is the greatest game franchise of all time and if it were a lady I would have it's love-child, or am I mistaken? So, I apologize that I consider checking out games that reviewers give perfect scores to, and I'll be sure to judge a game on its own merits from now on and stop coming to childish websites like this where lonely people such as yourself find me so appalling for stating an opinion. But just to live up to my fanboyism, I'll be sure to go pick up the first three Metal Gear Solid's (director's cuts of course because those are only for the hardcore fans). Thank you for shining a new light on my sad life of lie and sin.

As far as characters and cinematography, MGS4 blows KZ2 away. In texture resolution, KZ2 wins. Water physiscs are much better in MGS4. Smoke, dust, post processing effects, i'd say it is a tie. Both games have their share of low res shadows and both have tons of stuff happening on screen.

In the end it's all about what one expects to see in a game.

Every demo of any game I've ever played has looked just like the released version. Reviews are out already, you think they played a demo to write those reviews on? The game is done and is most likely just being produced at the moment and shipped.JKnaperek

I know what your saying TC, but just NO lol. I just went back and played Mgs4 after playing KZ2 demo for the 21st time and it just blows mgs4 away. Yes just looking down the street or something in some areas are awesome but when you put it all together it just doesn't touch kz2.

I've went through today and played cod4, Fear2 demo, RE5 demo and KZ2 demo today and after its all said and done KZ2 wins out easily for having the total package. The explosions in mgs4 they look like there on top of the surface, hard to explain but they don't fit the enviroment when there exploding, much less alot of the muddy looking areas. But I definitly think that Mgs4 is easily the 2nd best looking game out there, grahically it just doesn't pull it all together like how kz2 does.

And I thought I would just throw in that cod4 looks very old now lol after playing kz2 demo, thought it held its own up until yesterday but not anymore :) Fear2 demo is almost laughable compared to kz2, re5 has great character models but I can't walk into the corn stalk? Whats that about lol, once again a game that doesn't put it altogether. Horrible animations in RE5 by the way.

If you want emmersion, detail, cinematic gameplay, realism, great sound, and just all around great graphics its without a doubt Killzone 2.
