I don't know if there's a post on this or not but...
If you didn't know about it, it's in stores now for $29.99. It includes MGS(PSone), MGS2 and MGS3. Not a bad package if you want to relive them before MGS4 comes out.

i bought it a couple days ago. i neveer played any of the games, so its cool i get to play the series before the new one comes out. deff. worth $30.00 seeing the black ps disc brought back some memories!!!SpYkMoThe PSone version may be a little hard to stomach graphically and it's controls may feel a bit old but stick with it, it's a real gem.

Its totally worth it. Unfortunately I'd only buy it for MGS one since I already own the other two. But still its one of the best deals ever between the Orange Box and Smash Bros Brawl.
Just a hint: you should have probably posted this on your blog. If you have some friends on Gamespot they will read it and comment on it just like they do here (read: sometimes more then they would if it was in a blog and it probably won't be moderated)
well im gona get it tommarow because im kinda new to the MGS series, i was a little to young to play MGS back when it all came out, now i just recently bowwored MGS3 and omg i loved it so ima get the whole series so i can now know how it started and it will end. Doesnt Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake come in one of those games?
wish it was availible in the UK!zaokamura
Who wouldn't every fan dreams about it, I already have all the games but still I would love to add this to my collection.

Yea I got this last week I also bought a PS2. I had to play MGS1 on my computer though because the graphics were just horrible on my PS3, I could raise my resolution really high on my comp so it looked a lot better. I've been playing MGS2 now which I'm enjoying a lot more the graphics are alot better
[QUOTE="Keasy4"]we know and 2 and 3 are substance i checkedTeramiDo you speak for everyone? I know I didn't know about it until a few days ago and neither did a few of my gamer friends... Just trying to get the word out as this seemed to come out of no where.
Yeah, there's no need for being a meany... I know I wouldn't.
Well, I placed it here because some people who own a PS3 no longer use a PS2. If PS3's backwards compatible, what difference does it make which forum this is in? I figured that those people who are looking forward to MGS4 that don't own or haven't played any of the previous versions might find this news as exciting as I did.
I seem to have offended a few people by putting this here, judging by some of the reactions. No, I don't live under a rock but I do have a real life to live. My friends and the people at my local EB games had no idea this collection was coming and we were all surprised (and excited) to see it's arrival.
PSone graphics are a little hard to stomach over all I find but the smoothing on my PS3 does seem to help some. I would strongly urge anyone who hasn't played the first one to look past the graphics and just enjoy the experience for what it is. I know it's one of my most memorable games.Yea I got this last week I also bought a PS2. It's a really good game despite the dated graphics. And how can you not like a game that lets you plant a c4 on an enemy soldier's back?

I waited for the guard to use the urinal before placing my c4 on his back... *chuckles*[QUOTE="sa10kun"][QUOTE="Terami"][QUOTE="method115"]PSone graphics are a little hard to stomach over all I find but the smoothing on my PS3 does seem to help some. :P, I'm able to stomache them pretty well, most likely because I recently played through Half Life-Half Life 2: Episode Two, so terrible grapihcs were really no big deal to me. My Essential Collection just arrived today, been waiting all week for this thing. Word from the now wise, don't get $0.99 shipping, it's not worth it in the end lol.hey sa10kun, remember that you were gonna tell if the MGS(1) in the Essentials was the original or TTS??GreenGoblin2099
I am still reluctant to open it. I did end up playing mg 1 a little bit on my disc 2 of subsistence. I got stuck at this one part. Games really were tougher back in the day. Oh and I watched the secret theatre clips. OMG, ^0^ it made me want a Metal Gear Raiden Snake Eraser game.
