I've only played MGS back in the playsation days until now. The other day I saw a real cheap used MGS2 in gamestop so I gave it a try. I guess I had forgotten how terrible the camera system in this game was. But going through the tanker level, I was constantly having trouble seeing my opponents. The camera is always on top of your head and is pretty much fixed there. So in order to actually see down a corridor, you have to switch to the 1st person view. Unfortunately, you can't move in that view, all you can do is to look around. I guess being used to playing a lot of FPS and splinter cell games didn't help me much either. Does anyone have any pointers or advice in playing with this style of game? much appreciated.
not really much you can do, you should have seen MGS3 before they came out with the updated version, that camera systems was FUD up, but the updated one was best i have seen.

You know thats the only version I played. I never played the updated one all the way threw. I played like a tad bit of it "but it was not my game, still have his booklet thow lol," An yea it was cool and all. So I have yet to play a MGS really, with the better? "If they say better?" View. Yet I still loved the games. At the time of one. The overhead was something that was looked at as a innovated style, involving older looks with new.
And the worst part for that camera was?? You already named it. That dang rig at the start of 2. Right where the load of troops are. And their listing to that speech.
