The game has always been open ended in terms of how you get through an area, but if you mean like GTA, uh no, but if you you're talking about an expanded battlefield, then yes, it's more "open ended" which is a word I really just hate now......like campaign....so annoying. My big complaint would that the game from what I've ascertained is still built upon the get through an area, loading screen, area, loading screen, area thing, honestly I wish they would build a streaming engine that way the level could be streamed as you progress. T'would make more sense and be more immersive, but I also realize why that would be very difficult with an MGS style game.

its a stealth game, and the gameplay pretty much allowes for you to do what ever you want, espessialy in the later games

based on how each game in the series only improves upon its predecessor, i think MGS4 can potentially give us more options than we expect. drawing on some levels in MGS3 in which the area was simply huge and there were multiple ways of getting to the objective, i think that they will employ that very same mechanic in MGS4.
