Didn't Kojima said it himself that he doesn't give a damn about HD?
I bet everything that at the end MGS4 will be 720p running at 30FPS.

[QUOTE="mobius1979"]720p at 30fps is good enough IMO....1080p is nice but over rated.Taijiquan
You couldn't be any more wrong. 720p is 921,600 pixels. 1080p is 2,073,600 pixels. If you had a 1080p TV you would know this is HUGE.
I have a sony 1080p TV set and the difference is minimal, i have tried different games with both resolutions and the difference is NOT " HUGE" as u claim so stop it, like i said 1080p for video games is over rated, for movies on the other hand it is great.

I call BS on this. PC Gamers have been buying state of the art hardware for years so that they can support the higher resolutions. You want proof? Hook your PC up to your TV and try 720p and then 1080p on your desktop. Now boot a game. The difference is overwhelming. Infact, compare Ridge Racer Demo on the PS3. Run it in 720p/1080i and notice all the aliasing issues. Notice how the backround is not even close to as clear as it is in 1080p without any aliasing issues. There is no grain or motion blur.
For those doubting this, trythis on your monitor.
Try this resolution,1024x768= 786,432. Now try 1600 x 1200= 1,920,000.
1,920,000 - 786,432 =1,133,568
See how clear 1600x1200 is compared to 1024x768? Look at the pixel count!! 1,133,568 difference
Look at 720p compared to 1080p.
2,073,600 - 921,600 = 1,152,000. I think this is a good way to test.
My guess isyou A) Don't have one. B) Your parents do and they won't let you hook your PS3 to it :D:D:D:D.

ok first of all i bougt my own tv, and all i have said is IN MY OPINION 1080p is nice but over rated, and 720p for MGS4 wouldn't be the end of the world. You can throw all kind of stats on the different resolutions all you want every body that is knowlagable about High definition know those things already. So u dont need to try to make yourslef seem smart by listing all that crap.

We don't share the same eyes obviously. I notice a huge difference.
1. misleading topic title (is that a certain kind of people)
2. i hope it will be 720p 60fps. 1080p will not add anyting to the experience.

1080p will add a significant visual enhancement to the experience.
not true. they would have to make textures that are detailed up to 1080p level. the resolution will need much more power.
In reality 1080p games now don't offer much more to the experience. in many cases, to obtain this resolution, they have to lower the framerate or even texture detail.
The only games where it does make a difference is in very simple games like super stardust or games where very little is going on on screen.

In one post you say that 1080p does not add anything to the experience. Next post you say 1080p games now don't offer much more to the experience. Either it does or doesn't which you obviously have not made you mind up. Bottom line is, it does. Period. I have already offered examples for people to try.I have 4 HDTVs(including my HDTV Monitor.)
