MH2 is only for the extremely hardcore, if you're the type that actually enjoys mindless hours of level grinding. (there aren't 'levels' in MHF2, but that's what the gameplay is like)

1. It depends on what genre suits your taste . MHF2 is an ACTION game while FFT is SRPG.

2. MHF2 basically has little to no story at all, it involves grinding for items , monster parts to make your own items or to upgrade certain weapons/armors. Then you'll have quests to hunt down normal monsters to those big giant bosslike type. It takes time , whole lot of practices , patience and the ability to observe boss monster's habit and attacking pattern. If you're willing to spend alot of time in this , them MHF2 is probably a great game to get. Plus, multiplayer is super damn fun.

3. FFT on the other hand has a cool character customization system, therefore enable players to tweak, to and fro of different jobs/classses.Nice and cute graphics , extra event, classes, cutscenes and equipments were added to the PSP version. Battles are very challenging and require strategic thinking.

It's really hard to pick 1 between the 2 , maybe a few gameplay vids thru youtube might help you decide?

Diefinitely MHF2, it has great replay value, it is simply a blast, especially with friends. Even on your own you could easily get 200 hours but with friends you could double that.

Monster Hunter is for the EXTREMELY Hardcore, so if you're really into gaming, and you have alot of time to dedicate to it, then get it. I haven't got to play much of FFT:WotL, but from what i've played, it's quite fun, but it seems alittle slower than FFTA.

MHF2 isn't for the light hearted gamer , if hard level difficulty puts you off than you won't enjoy it , however if you're up for a challenge and have friends who can play with you then monster hunter may be the way to go , furhter more mhf2 is a major improvement as a sequal despite what GS said where as FF: tactics is essentially the same as it was on the ps1. I found FF: tactics way to slow i nterms of gameplay but meh. you want a run of the mill tactical rpg or a nique action adventure game?

FF : WOTL is kinda boring (No Offense) to me, If you like "WITH WIDE" story game, Get the FF : WOTL. But if you like "HUNTING", playing with friends or should i say hunting with friends, Get the MHF2. MHF2 has no story.
