I do not understand that why have M$ predicting stuff about PS3, they should focus on their console and announce some titles for god sake.
Microsoft: Playstation 3 Price Cut At E3.
This topic is locked from further discussion.
PS3 needs a price cut very badly. Look at March's NPDs. 218k? Really? It bugs me so much because they have released and still are releasing excellent games and people don't get to experience them because the box is too damn expensive. It's their arrogance and failure to recognize what the market will pay for. They shoot themselves in the foot and it drives me up the wall.
A HUGE problem with MS is that they never focus on themselves but they are always seeing what everyone else is doing and they try to put it their own system. They are always running their mouth about others (not just Sony) and it is sickening.very well said i agree with every damn word you said.PS3 needs a price cut very badly. Look at March's NPDs. 218k? They are getting worried about the PS3 I suspect, it is slowly but surely gaining momentumFriedosLOL, no offense, but are you serious??
Profit Margin Discussions are for System Bores. Im sure someone over there is willing to crunch the numbers..
Look each system has there strong points and if your not a huge candy fanboy you will understand this simple concept. The time the PS2 was out and when the xbox came out it outsold the xbox right? You know why? It's really common sense here is the common sense the reason is that it had a huge fanbase ahead of the competition and had a huge library of games and anyone who wanted third party bought the game for the PS2. Now look at the 360 it was out longer then the PS3 and built a huge library of really good games. The point is the PS3 is in a hole at trying to catch up with teh other systems at E3 I think you will hear something about a PS4 but dont quote me just given the certain state Sony is in its better off at just scratching the PS3 and starting over do it right this time around and dont slap the little fanbase it has left in the face like they did with the PS3. Get some good games out there and start hitting back with games and not blah blah crap.
Microsoft has had a habit of being followers recently. We study Microsoft's business model and tech history extensively in business school and much of the consensus is that MS is slowly lagging behind the tech inovation. They are getting complacent and reacting to competitiors after they have come out with cutting edge technology instead of being tech inovative leaders. Microsoft is such a big company it can be hard to look outside of the box for new ventures when you are trying to maintain the marketshare you currently enjoy; maybe one reason why their new-ish dive into the gaming market has business leaders intrigued (wouldn't want to lose that console race).
[QUOTE="Friedos"]They are getting worried about the PS3 I suspect, it is slowly but surely gaining momentumDuckman5What momentum? Everything is the same as last year. Consoles aren't moving fast enough at all. Sony is still in the hole big time.
Last year - MGS4, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2
This year- Killzone 2, inFamous, Uncharted 2, Gran Turismo 5, Ratchet and Clank, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2,God of War 3?, White Knight?
and I know im missing a few....only Xbox exclusives ive heard **** about in the past 2 years is Gears of War 2/Halo Wars, and Halo Wars wasnt even that good
*with a price drop* PS3 will sell ALOT of units, look at the line up this year not to mention the PS3's advantages of Blu-ray, overall better hardware/capabilities, and reliability
....theyre moving along just fine
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer...Is it just me or... does MS care more about Sony than themselvs?

While I have to agree they're gaining a bit more momentum, Duckman's got a point.
It isn't anything too amazing that would make the competitors fear Sony, so it's really just the same thing and everyone is in the same positions they've always been. There hasn't really been any huge changes in this stupid console "war."

The current price, as well as previous one, suits the PS3 hardware well - The value is fantastic. (I got mine for 699$ before taxes)
However, price is always important and I also feel it's time price cut. The economy is hard on many families and people who would like to buy one.
I'm actually expecting E3 price cut as well as another one by Christmas 09'.
We'll see, lower price is always great for consumers. :)
for a console that costs 200$ and have the largest game library recently, x360 is not doin very fine.........for a console that costs 400$ and have a decent library, PS3 is doin very fine.........well, abt the announcement of M$, i dun like M$ that much, but i hope they are right in this, i need to get me a PS3, the earlier the better.
