To be honest, no one in a pub games actually use their headset for good use. Most of the time you have little kids playing their crap music, and have some 25 year olds talking about their favorite beer. Then every 30 seconds you have someone saying "good s****". The headset is not needed if you aren't planning on playing in a clan or a group of friends.
i use my mic all the time.. but as the previous guy posted i am the beer talker lol.. i talk randomly with people unless i am playing with friends then i use strat.. i will tell you in a shooter or whatever if you got a guy sneaking up on you ect.. but i learned in FoM you just can't count on random people to listen.. everyone wants to rambo i guess..
yea its not absolutly necessary like some are saying but if you plan on playing online with your friends and you like to plan or strategize then go for it. any universal bluetooth will work but for the best quality sound i would go for sony's ps3 bluetooth headset. you can buy it alone for 50 bucks or buy the socom bundle and get the blutooth and socom for $60 which isnt a bad deal :)

I have a couple Blu-Tooth headsets one is a really cheap one I found for about $10.00 and I have the official Sony one that came with the Socom game. The Sony headset does work a lot better all around. I use it on my cell phone and the PS3 just about all the time.
