[QUOTE="Metalhero1"] My main question is can the PS3 Hard drive save PS1 and PS2 memory files? and if not are the Memory slots?
Is the Web browser any good? can you download files from the sites you go on(ie. game saves.)?
Overall is the dashboard and Media guide user friendly, like on a scale of 1-10. This question could best be answered by people who own a PS3 and 360, like how it compares to the 360s functionality.
Also Is HD really necessary like all of the lemmings in SW say it is. Ive played the PS3 a couple of times, but that was only in HD.
Help is much appreciated.

The PS3 can "create" PS1/PS2 memory cards using free space on the HDD. The only caveat I can see to this is that you cannot specify the size of the memory "cards" (they default to 7998kb for the PS2 and 120kb for the PS1).
The web browser isn't bad. I like that they somewhat improved on the design used in the PSP. I don't use it much simply because I do all my web browsing at work on my work computer.
The XMB is exactly like the PSP's XMB so if you've used a PSP, you'll know exactly what to expect. I'd give it an 8.5/10, as it is much smoother than the 360's Dashboard, but doesn't have as much functionality as the 360. As other posters have said, this will change over time, as Sony brings improvements to it.
HD isn't necessary, but when you compare games that are of both quality you'll definitely prefer HD. HD allows you to view games with much more clarity and quality and this could enhance your gaming experience. Just keep in mind that for now, HD is just a buzzword meant to entice you into a purchase (for both 360 and PS3). The proof will come in the near future as developers begin to use the advantages of HD for the benefit of us gamers.
Thanks that helped alot. I used to own a PSP, so now i know a bit of what it was like.
I also have another very important question. Im thinking of getting a used 20GB PS3 off of Ebay. Trustworthy or not?
