Does anyone else think, millions of people are just riding the hype train? So far that i seen in videos screen shots it looks like cod4 with better graphics and more guns. Also microsoft bought exclusive time on the map packs so use ps3 owners are going thru the fallout3 crisis all over again. im more intreseted in mag but hope thats not being over hyped as well. what are your thoughts on the whole, omg mw2 i muzt g0es buyz itz kn0wz

For $150 I can have a pair of night vision goggles and a game so I think the hype is well placed. You looked at the price of night vision goggles lately? It's insane.
It's just a glorified flash light when you really think on it. It'll make a good addition to those boring old Master Chief helmets everyone shelled out $130 for when Halo 3 released.

What are you going to do with those goggles? I don't get the purpose of owning one unless you hunt at nights or something.
Better graphics? I hardly noticed any difference what so ever between the two games. I think World at War looks better than what we've seen of Modern Warfare 2. Also there's no way it can meet the hype it's getting.

Except the fact that you can BLIND yourself if you look at a light close up. I can't imagine how many kids that are going to hurt their eyes with this NV because they won't know how to use it.
I hope they didn't change anything as far as controls. the game was pretty smooth and polished. I'm excited about it. If all they did was make it look better and added more guns and maps i'd be happy with it.
Well it's still the cod formula and everyone I know is gonna buy it so if you don't bet it your missing out on some awesome multilayer fun with your friends.

I'm debating whether or not to get it. I was completely addicted to CoD4 about a year ago. I wouldn't play any other game. Even after I started hating the game, I still couldn't stop playing. I don't know if I want to go through all of that again. Especially with so many other good games coming out
I think the formula is gonna get really old if it's another copy/ paste game. If they made another after this one it's gonna b the downfall of fps i think. Nobody will wanna play the same thing since 07. They really need to sort through and make a bunch of new game modes. CoD5 had what like 3 new ones and the rest r the same as cod4. i could see the same thing again. all the old and like 2 or 3 new ones with a few new hardcore modes..great..
Well MW2 will follow the cod formula which is well paced game with lots of cinematic set pieces that forces you to move forward to a certain point to trigger the next cinematic moment. The formula is fun but it is awfully constraining and sometimes artificial. You really only notice it when you realize how much the environments force you into the next area or when the cinematic moments become contrived. To me the slow mo moments and cinematic set pieces felt much more overblown and unneccessary in WaW then in MW1. It's hard to replay CoD's bc the formula ensures you have seen it all and the wow moment is just gone

wtf? Really people, CoD is just runnin around doing mindless shooting. I have nothing against that as I play it alot (I play WaW and I honestly think that WaW is better than 4) but still. I dont see how you guys can hype this game up sooo much. Also, nice try The_punisher23 (even though I thank you because you did pull up a very good point I'd like to address), CoD cant compare to Final Fantasy games. Why? First of all its a whole different game genre. Secondly, Final Fantasy is alot more... deeper. The game has alot more deeper story. It has alot more to the story (if that make any sense). But, of course this is all opinion oriented.
Please dont take my opinion the wrong way people. Just pullin up a point.

they're low quality nvg's. Very low quality, I doubt they will even be useable, they are likley more just for show. Ands it IW and MW thats all people seem to care about, put those two things together and whatever the final product is, they will be appeased, remove one and whatever the final product is they will whine and moan and complain. And sense that describes a bulk of the fanbase it will be all its cracked up to be for the majority.
This is why we should all buy Bad Company 2, am i right? :D

meh, i tried demo of BF:BC and I honestly didn't really care for it. CoD4 and WaW had some really good moments but to me they are rentals bc i could care less about CoD's online

You don't have to do anything with them. Night vision goggles are universally considered cool. And I like teh cool8).
Call of Duty franchise has definitely moved towards multiplayer in later installation. I always enjoy single player in all COD games but last few titles are below 6 hours of gameplay so I just find myself renting them.
From the current HQ videos and latest Qore issue that I had a chance to look at Modern Warfare 2, It honestly doesn't seem to look much different then it's predecessor.

True. The latest CoD games seem like the ultimate rental for single player. I beat both MW and WaW in two sittings each and it was a fun ride but not enough to warrant a purchase bc I don't like the multiplayer
To be very honest, I could say the same to you about MAG. I play Call of Duty 4 still, to this day, yet anything made by Zipper or along the same lines as MAG hasn't lasted long. SOCOM II was the obvious contender and is the only reason I'm actually buying MAG. I just don't see how MAGs going to work. I'd love it to work... a bit like how I'd of loved Killzone to live up to the hype. There's also loads of games I'd love to see, but unfortunately some don't work, some aren't made well, and some aren't even idea's in developers heads currently. I'm not liking the idea of some 13 year old kid screaming over the mic telling me to go plant a bomb at a bomb site defended by their entire team for 100x exp, while I'll be getting stupidly little exp from killing their entire team or something.
Oh yeah, unles they make huge changes to the multi-player, and I mean adding new stuff this game could fail huge. Why do we need another CoD every year anyhow. I only say that because I played CoD Finest Hour up until a year and a half ago. MW was out and I was still playing the first CoD online.
I played CoD MW online for about a month and said, what is this? Same with Waw. Maybe I've lost it for Online FPS's, but CoD Finest Hour was probly the best Online shooter I've ever played :)

I agree 100%. Final Fantasy has meaning to it and you actually have to think, and COD is just run and shoot. I still play and love both of them, but FF is a lot more than a stupid asian import. The_punisher23, maybe you should play it before yah diss. :roll:
I'm gonna do the same thing as COD3 and 4. I'll hear what everyone says, be hyped for it. I'll play it and go meh... It's ok it's just that it's just way too chaotic, which I hear they are addressing with the finite spawn points. Who knows? I hope I love it.
Its going to be just that TC, more of the same ole been there done that feeling, that will give everyone the idea that I might as well be playing cod4. But when the blind lead the blind we all know what happens lol, they all walk into the ditch.
if you didnt like cod4, then thats a shame, but the rest of us who did are gonna be hyped as hell because this looks better than CoD4. if the game was just as good as COD4 we wouldnt have a problem. but we are getting something better
