game availability!

Why is it that every PSP game is a pain in the ass to find in stores? I can't find Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, I can't find Valykrie profile, I can't find locoroco, can't find any of the gems that the system has to offer! Why do developers make killer games and then cancel production after a month? It's BS, I'm waiting for FF tactics to drop in price, but at the same time I think I won't be able to find it when it does drop in price...

I think it's mostly due to the fact that retail stores only carry games for as long as they sell. So, they rotate games off of shelves to make room for new releases. Your best chances for finding those games is to go to like a Gamestop or EBGames. Or you could go to a store that is least likely to have it. Like I got my copy of Valkyrie Profile at some rundown walmart. That's mostly because they don't find it necessary to update their inventory so older games stay up for longer. At least that's what I think is how it works.

I agree with your point. It pisses me off because I am trying to find the game Popolocrois. It's pretty much extinct in the fact I can find it NO WHERE. I remember calling a couple of the Gamestops around where I live and asked if they had the game. Basically, every person I talked to over the phone was pretty much "WTF?"; they had never even heard of the game and I even had one Gamestop employee ask me "what's a Popolocrois?" *Sigh* They even barely exist on ebay and if they are, they're quite expensive(for buy-it-now at least).

I think it will always be difficult to find just that *one* psp game we want, and in the end, we'll find it no where.

Its not just psp...its every system. Older stuff, even great stuff, gets cut for newer stuff.

You're confusing the term developer (the team who actually make and code the games) with publishers. It's the publisher's responsibility market the game, and to pay these stores to keep their product on the shelf longer. Your best bet is to check ebay, or a local ebgames for obscure and old titles.

I agree, most major retailers have horrible PSP selection, except Best Buy (which exceeds in every department anyway). I guess more people are buying other systems' games.

Try circuitcity. My circuit city has a HUGE section for Psp, and if not there try gamespot/ eb games. Your bound to find it at one of those places.

Have you tried Amazon? They have it used there for 10, or new for 13. Of course there is the $4 s/o, but the total should still be fairly close to what it would cost in store.

You just reminded me about Valkyrie Profile...I need to get on that one. But I know what you mean. I can't find The Warriors to save anyone's life.
