i believe motion sensing is about as useful as say the eye toy .. it a great distraction and a breathe of freash air but motion sensing can never replace a good old controller... proven by the amount of crappy games for the wii....fyi zelda go docked points cause of motion sensing

i think that motion sensing is great, like in COd3 when you can just basically flick the controller to melee, or in R:FoM when you shake the controller to wrestle of the little ugly guys or stop being on fire.

In a game like flOw, motion sensing is what makes the game fun to controll, i think in a game like wipeout the sixAxis could really shine, not to mention controlling a rocket or flying a plane, i can really add a whole new dimension.

Maybe in COD4 when in prone position you could roll out of the way by tilting the controller left or right, especially since it can detect all directions of movement.

Motion sensing is a breath of fresh air that revitalizes gaming. I played Zelda for the Cube and it was great, I loved it. When I played it on the Wii it was so much better, it felt like a whole new game. Motion sensing is not "the" future but part of it. It's a new path for games to follow, right along side the traditional controller. It's far from a gimmick i'd say.

"In marketing language, a gimmick is a unique or quirky special feature that makes something "stand out" from its contemporaries. However, the special feature is typically thought to be of little relevance or use. Thus, a gimmick is a special feature for the sake of having a special feature."

I think MOSEN definitely has a place in the future of gaming. I don't think it's "THE" future of gaming, but I think it will become one of those things that all consoles will eventually have in one form or another. Same as rumble. While some people like it, others dislike it. Therefore, I think both MOSEN and rumble/force feedback both have their respective places in the future of gaming.

Motion sensing is meh for me. I didnt like it in Motor Storm and as far as the Wii goes......I havnt played it since launch mostly because the control scheme is aweful except for zelda. Im glad SOny has left it an option and didnt design a new controller based on motion sensing.

A bit off topic but I find your sig awefully offensive.

it has potential, but the great thing about the sixaxis is that you don't have to use it. If the controls would feel tagged on just for the sake of being there, you can still play like you used to.

i actually like having it as a side thing like on the PS3. I would never be able to own the Wii because its all about motion sensing. But with the PS3 you get the graphics and physics and lighting of a powerful machine with the nice touch of motion sensing on the side. I like it in PS3 especially in flOw

There is almost zero fun in it after an hour. At first, it's kind of neat, but it's not how you should play games. Games should be played in near sleeping-mode. Not actively. Well, with the exception of Guitar Hero offcourse.

you LOVE flOw, and yet you dont like the sixaxis? i love flOw too, but i would hate to use the analogue instead. motion sensing can be a nice gimmick, or an essential part of the game. in FlOw, its essential, but in RFOM its just a nice gimmick.

I think there will always be a place for some sort of controller with buttons so no i don't think motion sensing is the future as such. I think PS3 motion sensing is great, assuming its used and used well. Seeing that well hopefully get rumble back we get the best of both worlds!

Thats what I mean. Flow is awesome and the motion sensing is really awesome, I just don't think making everything motion sensing is anything more than a gimmick. Like (not to flame here) Wii, it uses motion sensing in every game which I think I would die if PS3 was like that. Imagine FF XIII being more about control tha story !!

wait till manhunt 2, that game is going to get be all over the place with the negative press from politicians and concerned mothers. I mean imagine, bashing someone's someone's head in the game, you'll flail down with the wii-mote and the control will vibrate with every thud, then you'll hear crys of anguish coming out of the wii-mote speaker. I mean that is just too realistic.

The motion sensing is alright but it seems like it dosen't have anything "special" to it after a while. A game needs to use its functions a lot more effectively.

Its not LAME but is doesnt work well with the PS3, If I want motion sensing I will buy a wii...If I want great looking games that last hours and have good online play...I will play my PS3....

In my opinion the Wii is something you enjoy with a large group of people...more of a party style system...

Where as the PS3 is an online, or offline beast that you enjoy crashing cars, destroying buildings or killing aliens...

I will take Graphics over Motion sensing any day...

I think adding it to a tradition controller is a smart move(ps3) basing a console around it (Wii) will have future implications unless developers get over the hype quickly and make it more meaningful.

I think motion sensing is alright, but I hope it isn't the emphasis of future gaming. I have played flOw on the PS3 and the flash version. Controlling it on the PC is so much easier. Not that it's hard on the PS3. I just don't think it works as well as it could. Not to mention, why not give the option to control it with the analog sticks. I also have a Wii and don't think it controls as well there. It isn't as precise or reliable as it needs to be.

Exactly. That way it is not made the driving point with most games. I'd rather have a controller with the added functionality than a controller that forces the issue.

So far, the PS3 makes no good use of it, but I think the rumble was even worst. Less than 10 games on all the games on PS2 really used rumble for something cool. I think motion in games such as Lair or Warhawk will be cool, and I'm ready to wait for devs to show their ideas.

motion sensing on motorstorm was pretty lame, but I really liked it for Flow.  I think it was just better implemented and designed for flow and tacked on for motorstorm.   As far as Wii games, they seem to be the same GC games with a new control scheme.  The only game im interested in for that system is Zelda (which isn't a terribly new or original game in itself).  The Wii controller reminds me a lot of the DS stylus, a nice idea but I never use the stylus on my DS games.   Your going to be seeing Dpads and analog sticks for a long time....

Motion sensing is awful, and has been for over a decade. It is actually anti-gaming for me, who plays for fun. Work is not fun. You have to work at gaming with motion-sensing. At least with the PS3 you can always turn it off. How am I supposed to smoke while playing with my Wii? Hopefully this will be the first and last generation of consoles to use it.
