well, , imo they're all good, but have some critical differences

MW2 is your COD fix, great arcade type shooter, jut run and gun at your hearts content, without having to think much while doing it, not many tactical decisions involved, it's the more casual of the three.

BF:BC2 is kinda in the middle in terms of how casual it is, it's still an arcadeish shooter of sorts, you don't have to worry that much about cover, flanking and stuff and I think the way that some of the MP modes work means that you have to work as a team more the you would in MW, so it's a more hardcore experience, also it adds lots of vehicular combat and some environmental destruction, which leads to epic battles.

MAG is undoubtely the most hardcore of the three, you just have to work as a team otherwise you will lose period, you die with a few shots 3 to 5 tops and you're dead, considering they don't hit you in the head of course, running and gunning in this game is a no go.

so there you go, imo you can't really compare them, MW is you vanilla FPS, BF is your vehicular mayhem and MAG is your team work centered tactical shooter.

lol ill go out on a limb and guess your not very good at mw2 if you honestly think mw2 you are able to run and gun without thinkin...."not many tactical decisions involved" has to be the dumbest statement i have ever heard....since thats up to the player to do,not the games fault....i just pulled off a 1v4 on search and destroy, they planted the bomb and had a pave low already out,i was inside a house next to the bomb with a clay watching my back,as i kill the first dude that walks by me,his friend tries to sneak up behind me and gets blown up,now i have a predator missile with about 20 seconds left,i use my predator not only to blow up the pave low,but to give away the other 2's position,1 was near the bomb the other running around the opposite side,as i kill the camper guarding the bomb,i throw a smoke on the bomb and defuse while the last guy gets there when im 1/4 done and begins to try and spray at me.... Now if that did not involve any tactical decision,i do not know what a tactical decision is. :/

Your playing a mode that I consider to be a poor mans Socom. If you think your tactical then bring it to socom. Oh yea you won't have that predator to do the work for you.

Also on subject, what kills BFbc2 for me is its only 12vs12 unless they've changed that, there is way to much down time when looking for a enemy sometimes. But the squad mode 4vs4 I see alot of fun to be had there espeically if you already got some good clan members to run with.

As for MAG, I also wish it was as opened up as bfbc, but love how the team work works out.

you honestly think socom:con takes skill? lmfao

game is based off luck,on who can camp harder and who can get the lucky shot off first...after socom II, socom has been a D grade franchise....played by those who suck at call of duty or any of the other big name shooters...i get on socom sometimes and all i see are these SLOW moving, corner camping, gun spraying noobs, and it pains me that this is what socom turned into.

First Off Socom confrontation CANT be compared to the ****c ZIPPER Developed games. I love the SOCOM series on PS2 and yes it does take skill. As far as Confrontation that was more of a fix for the socom Feins who could not wait for MAG or perhaps a real SOCOM Zipper made game. So now on topic, I have to say that since all these games mentioned are just about the same. I am in the BFBC2 beta and honestly I stopped playing it like the MAG beta. They both seem to be good decent games but FPS games on the PS3 are so overdone IMO. MW2 is a fun game and gets the job done when you want to kill people and have some fun with your clan friends. I just bought MAG on Wednesday and have not played the retail version of the game yet so I cant really judge it. Communication is needed moore for MAG and MW2, not needed as much for BFBC2 but it is a good thing to have. That is the main thing these days with games, either people dont have mics or you have some xbox type annoying person on the other end who makes u put it on mute. they are all good games but once again FPS games can only be so great.

I played all three, I rented MW2 because I liked the first MW so I wanted to make sure I liked the second. I didn't do too bad I was probably around average to above average because I was so used to playing from the first one. I think MW2 lost it's fun, I don't have the same feeling playing MW2 as I did when I first started the original MW. It may be because I don't have as much time to dedicate to the game as I did when I was in college. So I see all my friends gaining ranks fast in like a day pretty much and I feel hard to keep up. That being said, I don't get to play with them as much, so I usually have to play with random people and it feels like everyone just runs off and does their own thing for personal gain and stats.

I played BC, and I played BC2 demo. I love this game, I absolutely can not wait till it releases, it has good graphics, good effects, and it is not an every day run around shooter. It can be I would say just a little more careful on how you do it; I actually recommend sticking with your team. But you don't get an indicator saying that your cross hairs is on an enemy or anything you just have to look for someone moving. Unless there was a setting I didn't play with. Anyways just watching buildings crumble around you as a tank is trying to shoot at you and your trying to shoot at someone else in the next building. Pretty epic feeling, this game is going to be pretty fun when it releases and I will play this over the MW games.

I own MAG, and I am addicted. I haven't had this addicting feeling since I first played Ghost Recon on my original XBOX (Usual Suspects and State of Emergency!). Anyways, as I type this right now I have this urge to say I am sick and go home from work to sit down and play it. The graphics are not BC2 but they are still pretty good on my set up, it is just fun running around with your team and shooting people. It does have some stuff that makes it easier for anyone to jump in and play like the cross hair indicators when you have someone targeted. I believe they did this so any skill level person would want to play because they want as many people to join the games as possible. The game is fun and gives you a good feeling, the first night I played I already met some cool people and added them to my friends list and now I log on to go play with them.

In my opinion BC2 and MAG are both games you would enjoy and own. But if I have to do the one is greater than I would do BC2>MAG>MW2

Don't get me wrong MW2 I liked, it is just it's own game and I don't find it as appealing as say others who defend it. It is not that I am bad either, like I said average to above average. On the boards about middle sometimes top, I just don't have that urge like I do with MAG and the BC2 beta to go home and sit down to play it for hours on end.

[QUOTE="idk761"]I agree with you mostly, except for the MAG part. I played until level 10 on the beta to try out the 256 player matches, and let me tell you something. Each match I played with 256 player I felt a sense of nationalism with my faction, I wanted to win, and not get the highest K/D ratio. That alone convince me to buy it, since I believe there are many more people feeling nationalism to there faction for bragging rights :P. The matches did not feel little 12vs12, it felt like a massive 128 vs 128 match. Single Player is not needed, look at MW2, sure it has a great campaign, but most people just play the online majority of the time, so it makes sense for MAG to focus on multiplayer then a single player campaign if most people will be playing online.gugler990
everybody is feeling a sense of nationalism and its awesome to see there propagandas on the website making it deeper what faction are you playing as

You guys just convinced me to buy the game.I mean I love mw 2 but the 'pressure' of being the best in each match isn't good , I would even log with my UK account to play it just for fun without worrying about k/d , streaks , etc.Without the pressure of being the best alone plus the sense of nationalism (which I used to feel when I played mmo's) it shall fit my tastes. :D

Bad Company 2 is better than MW2 for sure, I haven't played much of MAG other than the beta so I am not sure if its better than either of the two.

But Bad Company 2 is definitely better than MW2.

After playing for about 5 hours this weekend. I am starting to like MAG more. It is not something you can pick up and play you have to get used to it and teamwork when implied it makes that game awesome. I am sure clan matches will be the best. It has the feel of endwar at times.
