My game isn't starting up, will deleting my game data utility delete my saves?

It was working fine until it froze on a load screen and I turned it off. Now it just goes to the home screen when I put it in. If I delete my game data utility for the game will it also delete my game saves for the game too? Thanks for the help.

BTW this is what happened. I was playing a game and then all of a sudden the announcing and in between inning music stopped working, and at the end of the game the load menu locked up. So after a few minutes I turned it off. Then I started it back up and it isn't working. The little cd reading sign goes on in the top right of the corner but the game never shows up on the icon screen. The game disc is brand new without any scratches and was working fine until tonight.

ye thats happening to me to the disk icon wont appear. and when i take it out and put it back in it still doesent show.

only sometimes. the only game i have for it is call of duty 4 but wen i put a dvd in it it works.

Also, now when I plug in my ps3 to the USB port and try to connect using the PS button it doesn't connect, only when I'm using the controller wireless it works...
