my Killzone 3 PS3 theme!

Hey everyone. I made a Killzone 3 theme that took me about a (full) day to finish. here it is, Please feel free to tell me what you think! thanks!

A couple of questions:

1) How do you make the theme? I mean I get how to make a background obviously, but how did you change the icons?

2) What are the letters on the right and on the icons?

It is pretty awesome and I am probably going to DL it. IMO it is way better then the official KZ2 theme.

That is awesome and like the other guy said it is better than the official KZ2 theme.

thanks. Yeah, the 'letters' are all custom, made to resemble the Helghast letters in game. I based them off the littlebigplanet KZ2 stickers, and varous signs in game. One thing I will say, and it might just me being "nit-picky" but the symbols with 45 degree angles on the outside turned out kinda sloppy, with sharp points... but whatever. heh. with nearly 100 icons, it'd be tedious to go back and rework them all.


On a side note, the symbol on the left, next to the "word", if you didn't notice is the sybol Colonel Radec had on him, presumably it's the "colonel" symbol. I liked Radec, so he shall live on through my work :P

I haven't even played KZ2 yet, and I want this as my theme. To replace my Advent Children theme that I swore I'd never replace.

EDIT: oh, another little subtle detail, I put a scan lined ISA symbol over the Triad in the top left, to symbolize the ISA in a helghast uniform duality kinda theme.

but it's pretty subtle :)

haha yeah I was thinking requests and FF Vs is def one of them. Other things are God of war, uncharted, and anythign awesome. Haha you are really good with these themes. I think I will use this one.

Hmm, can't get it. I tried downloading it straight to my PS3 but that didn't work, so instead I downloaded it onto a USB stick then tried uploading it onto the PS3, but that didn't work either :cry: Am I doing something wring? O.o

Well, if Vs turns out to be exclusive (keep your fingers crossed) then I'll see what I can do. and there is already an amazing GOWIII theme out there. It really is amazing... lol. someone spent a LOT of time on it.0rin

Ah, I will have to check it out. I really hope FF VS XIII stays exclusive and blows me away like it could. Could potentially take my third spot (yeah i rate my games, what of it? lol :P) but I doubt it would be better to me then UC2 and MGS4. Hmmm then again FFX is the game that almost made me buy a PS2 when I had been a nintendo fanboy for too long. Anyway, we need to see more of these awesome fan made backgrounds cause they are better then most professional ones lol.

Just put the theme on my ps3 and it is BA. The ONLY suggestion I have is that (dk if this is possible) I PERSONALLY would prefer some smaller/ not solid icons going vertically. They just seem to big and blocky and obstruct the view of the amazing background. In no way am I trying to sound mean, I love it a lot, I am just saying what I think. If that was "fixed" it would be even more BA then it already is :P.

I like it but the image doesnt fit my HDTV, can't really see the 'KILLZONE 3'' logo at the right down corner. I have a 46'' samsung 1080p HDTV btw. Thanks.

I'm a graphic designer and I looked up what I need to put a theme together a while back so I planned to do some, I just haven't got around to it. I have Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign but haven't gotten around to making any yet. A lot of it has to do with the fact that my computer is so old it struggles at running any of those programs. :( Seriously, I've had to wait for TEXT to render in Photoshop before. :lol:

Once I start making some, I'll post them on AllPS3Themes and link them here. I wanted to do some for specific games and movies that I haven't seen ones for. Namely Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Wanted, and Kung Fu Panda and games like both Uncharteds (Yes, I know they have themes already), The Last Guardian, Red Dead Redemption, and maybe a different Bioshock one. I know people have made themes for some of those movies / games. I'd just wanna do my own special take on them. :)

Nothing beats having a consistent design where everything matches and ties in. Designers of all types have jobs for a reason.
