shame on you. I Just bought a new ps3 because the old one broke. I just tried to swap my old hdd to my new one and it erased everything. Thats fked up! I was on the phone for hrs with one of your cust support reps which did nothing. Apparently it said in the book that it does this but it should come up on the screen and let you know that its going to reformat your hdd. Games warn you not to turn off a game when its saving and you cant warn sombody that its going to erase someones WHOLE hdd? Your a huge company and you know many ppl are going to do this and there is no warning? I lost 3 yrs of data/saves/life because of this. Ive always supported ps. This is a god damn farce. Im sure this probably wont even be read but if it does,i would love to hear a good reason.. you let me down big time sony :(

That is common knowledge dude... You could of asked on the forums and everyone would of told you that... They give you a back-up feature to prevent losing data...MethodManFTW

Everything fails, thats why backups exist, it teaches people not to rely on something so much.

Meh what's the big deal anyway? So you lost trophies and game saves whatever. Is that really important to you? You should just have fun playing the games. I expect my PS3 to go any day now, and I'm just gonna throw it away and buy a slim and start all over.

Does everyone here think it's normal to format a whole hard drive without so much as asking confirmation, which I assume is what happened ?
