Hey everyone,

So here is my problem, lately, when I am playing my ps3 or just watching a movie... about 30 minutes into it, the fan goes into crazy workout mode, where it's so loud that I actually have to turn up my volume on my tv pretty high. What the hell is this from. I do use key board dusters on it once a week to keep out the dust and debris that could be blocking the vents and anything else. But still, it continues to go ballistic!

Does anyone know how to stop this machine from exploding on me?

Help!>???!??

Is the loud fan the starting point of getting the ylod?

Tips to keep your PS3 cool.

1. Make sure your PS3 isn't sitting on any carpet.

2. Make sure your PS3 isn't sitting inside a cabinet that's to small for it. It might look better, but it might not be allowing enough air to keep it cool. Especially true if it's standing vertically. That usually places some of the vents by a "wall" of some sort.

3. Sounds like you've done it already, but make sure the vents look pretty dust free.

4. Make sure it's away from other electronic equipment that's giving off heat of its own. Your PS3 will be sucking in hotter air which won't help keep it cooler.

5. Read the PS3 manual. It's got tips in there for you as well.

There's your problem. I dont know why you're using dust blower on the PS3 vents when the vent holes are so tiny as it is.. You might be doing damage to it with the dust blower. I keep my game consoles and electronics covered with plastic when I'm not using it. I never use those products. I could never trust them.

The thing is I don't use the keyboard duster right against it because I know it can cause some damage so I do spray it from a distance.

Even if its horizontally and the free space on her right (you know, the vent holes) is the same has he PS3 size, thats still not enough and i'm telling from experience. My tip: Coffee table, i know its a pain, but every time i wanna use i PS3 i put her in the coffee table, yeah yeah i know, what i pain, but think about its the best thing to do for her, well moving her all the time isnt that good eigther, well, you choose the less bad option, preferably it would stay on the coffee table or something similar all the time, NO CABINETS no matter how big they are, i could fit 4 fat PS3's on my and i don't keep her there.

Here we go again! Another misinformed persone scaring people. When are people going to understand that the yellow light means an internal component is not working, it can be anything from the GPU, CPU, Fan, PowerSupply, cables, Discdrive, Lens etc. it doesn't mean is a mass problem.
